If he can fundraise, he can be the president of a university. At such a large school, there are already people doing all the other stuff...and then there's the Board.

This was a move made to bring in funds, plain and simple.

Running a large organization is running a large organization.

Definitely a fundraising and bringing the spotlight to YSU. Which is a good thing.

Let's be honest here. You could put freaking Jim Tressel as President of the University and they still aren't going to get any more money from their 3 successful alumni. The reality is, YSU just makes other schools in the region look better; I mean why else do people think Case is better than a CC?

Yeah, I think the good outweighed the bad. He made a terrible, terrible mistake in his handling of Pryor. He treated him with kid gloves and it ended up costing him his job, but his tenure was far better than Cooper's who had all the talent in the world and couldn't beat Michigan and had difficulty with bowl games.

Tress is a good man who made a mistake.
He paid for it.
You can blame what happened to OSU on the POS NCAA.

His recruitment, organization and delegation skills that served him well as a football coach will help him in his capacity as a university president.

The YSU offer forced Akron to stop dragging their feet and make a decision. They preferred and chose an academic. There is no wrong decision here.

When Akron and Kent stop politicking against it (at least this is what happened in the 90 s when YSU was better than those two)

That won't happen in the near future. Kent and Akron won't even play Ysu in football any longer.

Just shows that beating Michigan cures all.

I am glad for Tressel. He did far more good for Ohio State than bad. The biggest loser in that whole debacle was Gordon Gee, but that comes as no surprise. Good luck with that ego WVU.

No, that's why someone has run a college football program and a university, while you've run nothing but that sore under your nose.

He was a bit of a scapegoat while the AD went untouched...sure Tressel was guilty, but he wasn't the only one who was in this situation.

He is a lying POS who cost the school 3 seasons of football. It sickens how everyone makes excuses for him just because he beat Michigan.

Only on paper. We all watched the three seasons, we know what happened.
