I agree, I try not to get my panties in a bunch either way. It's pretty fucking stupid to overreact to a draft pick until you see the guy play (unless you draft somebody like weeden who was pretty much a sure thing he was going to be a bust aka a completely fucking stupid pick). The people acting like we got our future HOF QB and the people who are trolling to say the Browns are going to suck for another 10+ years are idiots.queencitybuckeye;1614384 wrote:Of course not, it's just a throwaway equally as absurd as proclaiming someone a genius for drafting a player that no one knows whether he can play.

He can't be worse than Weeden.BR1986FB;1614388 wrote:I'll make one comment on this and then move on.
For the OP (i.e. moron).....you'd better hope that Shanahan is the "genius" that Farmer is because he's going to have to create a "schoolyard/draw plays in the dirt" type offense to suit his skillset. He's either going to be a genius or this will be a total clusterfuck.
Either way, at least the city will be "relevant."

I like the pick. I think Shannahan can make him work. The pick is a much better value at 22 than it was at 4. Without seeing them play I give the first round an A. I think Gilbert can be good, especially with donte/haden has mentors and he wont be covering the best WRs. Also, JFF mania will overshadow the fact he was a top pick, so he can just go out and do his thing. Also can't QQ about having the Bills first round pick. This isn't like trading with the Falcons when it was pretty much a foregone conclusion they most likely were going to make the playoffs. The bills have a very good chance to be picking near the top of the draft. I am not sold on Manuel, and they lost their best coach.BR1986FB;1614388 wrote:I'll make one comment on this and then move on.

i think its a good pick but the AFC North is no joke throwning him out there early might be a mistake but hear this sports fans there is no film on JM playing in the NFL. Refer back to RG3 as a rookie and the things he was able to do with his skill set which i see is similar to JM and the fact that the browns do play good D untill you give this D-coord. film to study you have the advantage. Remember the greatest show on turf ? How long was that for so i think he if beats hoyer out then good for the browns early also getting that 2015 1st round pick is great for the future with JM as the Qb. Lee from USC would fit this team and make them more explosive.
I am not a browns guy at all but give the first two picks an A moving in the right direction finally tired of hearing all the monday qbs and there great ideas.

Same here...I'll root for him to play well against us, just as long as we win.

The Browns now need to draft WR Marqise Lee, RB Carlos Hyde, S Lamarcus Joyner, WR Allen Robinson, or WR Jordan Matthews and this would be one heckuva draft then for them.
