That and Jordan Hulls ran the team on the court, getting them into the right situations.

I guess I expected less out of this team, sort of a similar to last year's team. I would like to see a difference coach, no doubt about that, but they wont pull the trigger after this season.

It depends on how the year ends. He is 100% gone if they go 1-3 (home loss + BTT loss + NCAA Loss) the next 4 games. Id make it 75% he is gone if they go 2-3 (same as others, but win 1st game of BTT). Anything else, and he is probably safe, but make no mistake, the masses want him out...and they will be heard. They may not get their wish, but IU will hear them loud and clear.

I'm just embarrassed by the product Tom Crean is giving this league.

Yogi guarding Aaron White in the post made me LOL allost as much as Stan Robinson/JBJr on AJ Hammons.

It's probably better if IU loses vs Iowa and vs MSU. They may be better off in the long run by missing the NCAA's.

I agree, but as a fan and alum, impossible to cheer for. I just don't see how an AD can retain this guy even if they beat MSU. These last 2 games should be enough to sway anyone on the fence. Awful.

Ideally, Indiana beats MSU and sneaks in so I can watch them in the NCAAs. It's the best part of my year. But then, when that's over, Crean is fired...a missed tournament and an 11 seed isn't good enough. Especially after getting the #1 team in the country prior.

At least this time Indiana isn't bare bone dry of talent and can probably reel in a really good coach.

No way does Crean survive this. And if he does, Fred Glass needs to go as well (he really needs to go as well regardless).

Yes. Yes I do.

Get rid of him.

Dakick didnt come out and say it, but he hinted very, very heavily that IU doesnt belong to be in the NCAA. 10-10 vs "like" schools.

I agree. I'd say they are gonna be last 4 in (and play the play in) if they lose Saturday. That means they gotta go 1-1 to maintain that spot in the BTT. If they beat MSU, they are in though.

On the contrary, how can you fire a guy who wins 20+ games, makes the NCAA's and does so with almost nothing on the interior. Honestly, if that happens, I'd say IU overachieved. What he COULD be ridiculed for is the off-the-court stuff.

Because the team has a plethora of talent. He doesn't recruit a balanced roster (no interior is his problem alone).

Not hating on your comment, but I cannot fucking stand when people say a coach is safe cause he overachieved. He is overachieving cause we thought the team would suck? Makes no sense why you would keep a guy who doesn't have high expectations. I'm sorry, but there is absolutely nothing that makes me think Crean should be retained. Not 1 thing.

A school like IU should be able two win 20 in their sleep, especially with the cupcakes they schedule early on. He had 2 seasons with 20+ wins so far. This year, they probably get to that mark but you can just see this program isnt where it should be or where it was expected to be. I give him credit for taking over when Laley may have been as good of an option to start for IU. After the two seasons they ahd with Zeller that should have propelled this program back to greatness. A "bad" season should be 20-21 wins for this program.

Uh, didn't UK basically do this with Tubby Smith? Yes, Tubby left on his own, but the writing was on the wall there and he was basically pushed out the door.

How could a MLB team fire a manager who took them to the postseason 2 out of 3 seasons......

76 teams have already won 20 games this year. By the end of the year, the total will probably match last year's 122.

Its really not an accomplishment these days. And "making the tournament" is not an accomplishment when you're Indiana.

But rumor posted on a private chat last night (which Mike Pegram, who runs the Indiana Rivsals site gave truth too) that Crean is searching for a new job and if he can get one will accept a lower buyout than the $12M in his contract. Stevens is a real possibility (Pegram stated that this part he didnt agree with completely, saying Stevens is definitely in play if this happens, but puts it at less than 50-50...probably 40% chance).

Yeah, I read that and didnt take to heart a single thread that was said. Glass is just doing his job in that interview.

Now, we just have to hope he does his job after the season and takes care of business.

Crean is IU version of OSU John Cooper. I know the feeling and can remember rooting for OSU, but also hoping in a way they would lose to get rid of him.

I cant do it. But, at the end of the game, we have lost by 20, I wont be all that pissed lol.

Just to think, Indiana was sitting pretty as a 5-6 seed and had 6 VERY winnable games to close the year. And...now this.
