Was pretty intense last night flipping back between the bb and hockey game.
Hoping Cueto is on, again especially against Volquez.

He is due for a bad outing though.

Meseraco.....I cannot remembe the last time I saw a guy make ML pitching look like he was going against high schoolers.

Could say both pitchers are due for a bad outing. Volquez has been the Pirates best starter so far this year, after being pure garbage for a couple seasons. So, he's either Liriano 2013 revisited or he's due for some statistical regression.

Am all for Volquez having a bad outing! Have not paid attention but did hear themt talking about him last night that he has been throwing more strikes and using his breaking ball alot more.

Main thing I'd read was that during spring training, other pitchers came up to him because they noticed something about his arm angle or how he was exposing his pitches or something along those lines, where he was able to correct some things.

I guess that makes sense, because I know he was a highly-regarded prospect and he had one good year with the Reds before completely falling apart. I don't know that I'd look at him as a long-term option, but if he can get his shit together for any real length of time, it could help a lot. Especially with Wandy back home (the DL, where he's resided for most of the past year or so), Liriano a bit off, Cole a bit off (although he did have a very strong start on Sunday, so hopefully, he's back on track) and Morton his usual "great one day, blech the next" self.

Not so sure I would count on him as a long term option. If he would have a good season this year. He will be 31 at midseason. I would just take whatever you could get out of him and count it as a plus. He had very good stuff but just didnt have the control. Wild out of the zone, and would get wild in the zone. When JC came up he was seen as the new and improved version of EV.

Found it funny on the reds FB page this y ear so many "Fans" complaining that Cueto was the opening day starter. The guy has proven he is the ace if he stays health

That makes no sense. Especially considering the other guy who could be considered an ace opened on the DL. I mean, Bailey could be an ace and they paid him to hopefully become an ace, but overall, he's still a good step behind a healthy Cueto or Latos. And Cingrani has a ton of potential, but needs to have extended success before he can be called ace-level or anything like that.

Oh I know......There is a reason I dont go on there anymore. Some very, very stupid people who really dnot know the reds, or baseball. When people starting to ask why Arroyo and Hannigan were not playing, and couldnt understand whey the starters werent playing every day and the full games in ST I knew it was time to go elsewhere to talk about the reds.
The one that got me to leave was soemone who said Bruce was terrible, good for 2 k's a game, and should be platooned when facing lefties...even though he has 40+ bombs against lefties in the last few years.

lol, "fans" like that exist just to make the rest of us who actually put a bit of time and effort into following our teams and forming opinions about things look halfway smart, I think.

Volquez is exactly what the Reds can expect from Tony Cingrani and what the Indians can expect from Trevor Bauer.

The 5 inning, 110 pitch, 40-50% balls thrown special.

Ahh. I didnt know that was a prerequisite that I had to start the next one after they won.

I am only on here 4 days a week usually so I cannot start them all the time.

So technically I am 1-0, but I guess officially 1-1. STill better than most of you though

No because they lost the second game BECAUSE you didn't start the thread. If you're going to start a thread on here, play by the damn rules. SMH
