I've never ever liked UConn....but hard to root against this team and coach.

Hats off to Tom Izzo.....he made this game great and also lost it for MSU.

Injuries happen. Gotta adapt. I know it wasn't to the level of Michigan State this year (in terms of quantity of key players missing time), but Duke lost its best player and the No. 1 NBA Draft pick 11 games into the 2010-11 season and still garnered a number one seed that year. Irving didn't return until the tournament had started.

This post is not about K. It is just an example that big injuries happen to every team at one point or another.

Shabazz Napier is fucking awesome. Good to see Kevin Ollie get it done.

Nice to be able to like a UCONN team since Calhoun is gone lol

Izzo chose to die with Appling. Debatable strategy.

I understand that, and I am not really making excuses as much as it seems lol

But Id venture to say MSU wouldve been better off with someone like Appling or whoever missing the whole year as opposed to mixing guys in and out and never being able to find a rhythm.

Like McGary this year with Michigan or Irving with Duke. Its a lot easier to get acclimated when you know someone is done and everyones roles shift. A lot tougher when guys are in and out constantly.

Izzo had to use Appling. While he was horrible in every other aspect of the game, he could at least start the offense unlike Trice (who had trouble dribbling).

And on that note, I wonder what MSU wouldve looked like without Appling? That guy was as bad as I have ever seen him the last 2 months. I mean, just awful.

Never thought he was a great PG, as he always made mistakes. But he was a pretty clutch player in his time and came up with big drives/shots. But man, he was almost playing against MSU the last 2 months. The wrist couldnt have been THAT bad, right?

Isnt March crazy? UCONN needed fucking BRIMAH to get an offensive rebound, turnaround fadeway and-1 AND make the FT just to beat St. Joes. Now, they are headed to the Final Four. Just insane.

And being able to root for UConn now that Calhoun isn't there anymore (well, technically, anyway. He still sits in a seat right behind the bench about three feet from the team lol).
