But seriously, Cleveland ain't that bad. Lakewood, Tremont, and Ohio City are all places I think I could live. Downtown living is a little rough with lack of grocery stores, and lots of places are closed on Sunday.
I work downtown and a lot of the younger people I work with live downtown and love it. there is a grocery store in the Warehouse District, but it's a boutique type place. however, Hienens is opening a full size store at Euclid and E9 St which will help what you refer too.

I grew up in Columbus, so I love the place and always will. That said, there are plenty of things Cleveland has to offer that Columbus doesn't have. One thing I will NEVER miss about Columbus, though, are the way middle age men live their lives through the football team at Ohio State. It's like one of those tiny Texas towns that values HS football above all else. now that I know you are one of those men who needs 19-21 year old boys playing quality football to feel good about himself, you're absolutely justified in saying Cleveland has nothing to offer you. Enjoy your teenagers playing a game.

Mutha f'n reps. I'm far from some avid high school football fan, but I'll catch a big game when it's convenient and close (went to 1 last season). I have to laugh when all these OSU die hards (ex. Tiernan and LJ) give people shit if they talk about HS sports at all when they do the same thing, just on a higher scale.

Playhouse square renovation underway.

Could be misquoting, but I think I read the chandelier will be the largest in the world? Something of the sort anyways.

I was comparing guys who drool over the Buckeyes in Columbus to those little Texas towns that follow every breath of their HS team. I know you're a Buckeye nut - a middle age man who lives vicariously through the exploits of college boys, many of who are teenagers, playing a game. So I understand why you like Columbus so much.

Your argument for hating Columbus is poor at best.

Enjoy!

You didn't read my earlier post: I was born and raised in Columbus. I love the place with all my heart. For the last seven years, I've lived in Cleveland and I love it there as well. Tiernen was running Cleveland down, and it came out that he was an obnoxious Ohio State fan living in Columbus. I was simply saying that the only thing I didn't like about Columbus was all of the older men who measure their entire lives based on Ohio State football. And if he was a guy who needed the exploits of a bunch of 19 year olds on a college team in order to feel good about himself, then he was right, Cleveland's not for him

Are you fucking drunk?

The city has four corporations named to the US Fortune 500 and a GDP of almost $100 Billion (which grew by $25 billion in a decade)

Columbus employment has increased 7.7% since the January 2010 employment trough which is better than Ohio at 3.7% or the U.S. at 5.7%. - do you think this was all due in part to Ohio State?

Butthurt over what? I wasn't defending Columbus, just saying his argument was lousy.

Please stay in Cleveburgh O'Tool - we don't need or want you back. In the meantime I'm going down to the Woody Hayes Center later today to watch 19 yr olds work out.

Isn't an argument the statement of facts or beliefs to prove a point?

4 is supposed to be good for a city of that size? To put it in perspective, the Toledo area has 4.

If I had to live near (aka suburbs) a large metro area in Ohio, I'd rank them in this order:
Columbus
Cleveland
Toledo
Cincinnati
Akron - Canton
Dayton
Lorain - Elyria
Youngstown

Looks like there is a great chance there will be a rooftop bar atop the Hilton Convention Center Hotel.
http://www.cleveland.com/architecture/index.ssf/2014/04/design_changes_show_that_cuyah.html

Update for bases_loaded (I think) was at a city development meeting tonight and can confirm there is still a lot of interest by Gilbert to put some sort of casino in the East Flats development. Probably nothing like the one downtown though, and understandably so. There has been a lot of money put into it.

mods- for the umpteeth time, can this please be renamed to "All things Cleveland" or something or the sort? I plan to keep using this thread to post about whats going on with the city and would like others to add as well. Thanks.
