Great premiere for season 2. Collin Ferrell killed it. Should be a really interesting season.

i just hope the story doesn't go too many directions with each individual character. I don't want to be following 3-4 different plots, it makes the series drag on like the walking dead.

Yeah, lots of interesting characters, and I guess they may have, kind of, tied them in together at the end. You have no idea what's going on, but it sucks you in like the first season did.

And the cinematography is again top-notch. I don't think here's been much on tv in a long time that comes close...maybe Mad Men.

I liked it. I have no guess as to what is happening, but that's okay. There is no way that dude survives the motorcycle scene at the end in real life, though, let alone stops the bike standing.

Lol yeah he was going like 100+ mph and basically comes to a perfect standstill in a matter of a few seconds.

That was a weird kinda boring episode until the last 5 minutes. They really killed him off 2 episodes in?

True Detective seems like it would be above those cheap tricks. And "no blood" wouldn't have to mean anything (although you're probably right, probably beanbags meant to scare him), but he's clearly not dead...mainly because he's the only tie-in to Vince Vaughan, so killing him would kill two story lines.

But, LOL, these writers sure do like taking their time. Maybe that's the point - we don't know anything or learn anything faster than the detectives.

Were you psychic or had you read that Abigail Spencer was cast?

This. Hopefully they won't market Colin Ferrell then kill him the second episode. He was shot at point blank with a shotgun(?) twice and you don't see any blood or gore.
The show reminds me of GoT where 75% of the season is slow but has two episodes where you're left thinking "holy fuck." Next week looks like it could be one of those episodes.

It's cool. I wish we had the option to wrap posts in spoiler tags like on other forums.

Anyway, dead or alive, who's behind the shooting? I'm thinking VV didn't like how their meeting ended, so he decided to send a message (he's the only one that knew CF would be there alone).

VV is the only one I can think of with a motive and knowledge he'd be there. Possibly the mayor, but I don't think he'd want a cop shooting to attract more attention along with possibly losing his inside guy in CF.

Maybe that Russian mobster and whatever game he's playing...he could possibly be having CF followed and maybe hoping to steer the investigation in another direction.

Maybe I'm misreading something but are they trying to hint at Woodrugh being gay?
