Those are all shitholes that aren't worth visiting. Who is going to pick up from BG and go to Lima to do stuff? Nobody, that's who.Heretic;1578720 wrote:Difference is that BG is a smallish town in an area where they're near a lot of comparable (Findlay, Lima, Defiance).

What time do they close? My schedule sucks. I would not be able to go there until close to 10:00 p.m.Ironman92;1578722 wrote:Do not skip Pizza Crossing....and don't skip the breadsticks with cheese

I'd give yourself a half hour, unless the Nelsonville by-pass is done. I haven't been down that way for awhile.

Looking at a map, I may be better to look in Lancaster for a hotel (if there are nicer ones).

30-40 minutes, Nelsonville bypass is done and they bumped the speed limit on that section up to 70 to boot.se-alum;1578736 wrote:You'll be looking at an hour drive.
Pizza Crossing is in the middle, closer to Lancaster than Athens

Toledo is also not worth visiting.Heretic;1578740 wrote:Which is why I also mentioned Toledo.
MOST college kids aren't willing to drive 20+ minutes to go somewhere. They wander about the town that's available to them.
Hence, in that regard, OU = BGSU

You're looking at 30 minutes even with the bypass done.se-alum;1578731 wrote:I'd give yourself a half hour, unless the Nelsonville by-pass is done. I haven't been down that way for awhile.

My comparison is valid. They're big schools in small towns.
I wasn't comparing populations; I was talking about the 'veracity of partying', so to speak.

I was moreso comparing environments. I can't imagine schools "party harder" than others... You just need to know where to do it.QuakerOats;1578751 wrote:I wasn't comparing populations; I was talking about the 'veracity of partying', so to speak.

The only real "nice" one (read:more than 3 stars) would be the Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg

The closest 5 star places are in Logan. The Shawnee Inn or the Inn Towner. Classy joints.

If He wants something really nice, He should check out some Cabins in the Hocking Hills area, They are nice, Private and that time of year won't be that much more than a Hotel

Only bad part about cabins is they're almost always a 2 night minimum. Not sure if he's only planning to stay overnight Friday or both nights.
