That's because they're terrible forecasters. They're going off a model that's showing way too much moisture, I highly doubt anyone beats a foot. 6-10" from a line extending from Dayton to Mansfield to Akron, 3-6" with slush involved for places like Dayton and Columbus and major icing for Cincy

Has any so-called science come less far in our lifetimes than meteorology?

I would disagree, it's came extremely far, maybe further than any earth science. In 40 years we've developed a highly technological national weather service, with high resolution models predicting on a 3D scale exact weather conditions 48 hours out and radar that is insane

Exact conditions? 6-10 inches of snow is not exact conditions, it's scarcely better than throwing darts.

6-10 inches in a situation where you could go to five different weather service providers and get five different predictions for exactly what will happen.

Weather.com has my area (about 5 miles east of Dayton) getting 2-6 inches. The local weather (WHIO, said) is still predicting 6-10". So we're going to get anywhere from 2-10 inches, apparently.
I have to drive home from work at 11pm tonight. It's going to suck either way.

I don't think you will ever be able to predict exact conditions when dealing with nature. However, some of the weather predictions and models have been very good. Maybe your expectations are a bit too high.

These guys have been dead on all winter. Not saying they won't be right tonight but so far they've been good at predicting whats gonna happen.

Yeah...been keeping an eye on them recently and they have been pretty good.

Because I have no life still fucking with some on there who are clueless on a map as to where they live.

Maybe McSobers will deliver wings....

Even if you know 25% off this, which is normal for NAM, we are in for some good snows. This is the latest NAM.

Judging by the radar loop I just watched and the fact that I drove through west central Ohio about an hour ago, I am concluding that you are a liar.

Downer.

I gotta go to work at 4am or second thought maybe 3:30am. I doubt it'll be much better in the morning.

Darke county is covered in snow/ice when it's 80 degrees outside. It's a hellhole for driving.

lol. My buddy learned one night his pick up wouldn't go over 99mph, coming home from Eldora and getting smoked by a Pontiac GXP.

I've not experienced the back roads of Darke during snow. All I know is Miami county is a hell of a lot better than Champaign county at keeping roads clear.
