Baby, will baumspage be live updating throughout the day or just posting results at the end? This will be the first time in 7 years I will be unable to make it.

Did the individual or Team that was stealing stuff get dealt with appropriately? More importantly, will the thieves be wrestling next weekend? I hate a thief more than I hate a liar. This type of thing is what makes the city look terrible every year. Coaches need to get control of their kids, and I don't want to hear a sob story about a kid that doesn't have anything. That story is played. We know who is in need and who steals just to steal. I hope that the kid or kids get punished to the full extent, and their coach does the right thing. Too many free passes in life has a tendency to breed losers who make excuses.

Now I got that off of my chest, congrats to Whetstone on winning the city title this year. Without an individual champion to boot. A full team effort. Congrats to Centennial for being runner up. I was Impressed with Centennial 138lber. Solid technique and good gas tank.

I was only there for the finals so I don't have to many gripes. The only one I really had was the lack of scoreboard. C'mon 80babby! You got to have that working for the finals maaaaaaan!

Congrats to Marion Franklin for Bringing 9 kids and wrestling tough. Its hard to make moves in a tournament giving up 106-132! It is what it is and you go with who you got.

I was impressed with the 113 from Brookhaven great win, 132 Em from West, and 182 Monroe From MF wrestling with one arm.
Hopefully we can have a big weekend next weekend and produce more DQ's. Good luck to everyone....Except those that are stealing. I hope they are not allowed to wrestle.

First of all I want to say congratulation to Whetstone and Coach Jones (Coach of the year) for their league Championship today. Also a very big thanks to ITC for coming out and doing some mat side coverage today. I wanted to post results today after each round but it just didn't work out that way. For the most part things went very well today its been a while since we hosted the City Tournament and we tried to do things a little different today. Lowleg I know we didn’t use the scoreboard today because of the layout of the gym. Maybe we can talk the District into buying some of those new high speed triangular score clocks like they use at Darby and the State Tournament. As for the issue that took place today we'll have to wait and see what's going to be done about it.

I wish all the City League Teams the very best next week. I'm hoping to see a large number of District Qualifiers and right into the State Tournament. To the wrestler's today was the start of your post season so stay focus and work hard because your goal is within reach. Results are posted on baumspage.com under Columbus City League Tournament.

I absolutely agree with the bolded parts above lowsingle174. What an embarrassment. Coaches, find out who the thieves are and discipline them appropriately. These shenanigans have no place in our sport or our City League Tournament.

You dang near need cameras to cover the stands....I've seen it happen at TOP GUN also. Sometimes security focus on more minor things... Hopefully, they were caught!!!

Wrestling stuff...

106: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDaRrmspkJU&feature=youtu.be

Other finals were taped... 113, 120, 132, 152, 170, and 182. On YouTube, type "ITC Mark and Shawn" and the rest will be there. Or click on "Mark Shawn" under the video. There should be 18 videos.

Again, congrats to Whetstone on the team title, truly a "team" effort....one of the keys to winning I previously mentioned! : thumbup:

Congrats to Mifflin for finishing 3rd with only 10 wrestlers...4 champs (3 potential finalists out due to various reasons!), but as you said...It is what it is! ;)

I, like you, can't and won't tolerate a thief so that issue, as it was at the event, is resolved...it's a wrap!! :RpS_angry::thumbdown:

I know it is a shame. Top gun takes place at the high school where I graduated from. We always said keep your stuff close to someone. That being said, there are 40-50 teams being represented there. This is a LEAGUE tourney with 16 teams. I also know that stealing is stealing. It just aggravates me.

It is what it is: I didn't know you guys had that many kids out!! I actually pegged your squad to win it this year. If you had to deal with the theft issue, I'm sorry to hear about it, but I know that it will be dealt with appropriately since you are a stand up guy..

I'm done with the Stealing issue. CONGRATS to Whetstone and Coaches Jones and McClure. It is a testament to you guys as coaches for keeping it together this year and making it happen.

WyldeHawk: You're the man!! I didn't see you at the tourney, next time I see you we need to catch up!

It is what it is;1569884 wrote:Agree 100%, gonna be an interesting day, and several teams have a shot to win.

Walnut Ridge and Centennial have some depth and will score, but not sure they will have a champion.

Just a guess, but Whetstone (160 & 285), West (106, 132 & 285), Brookhaven (113, 152 & 220) and Marion Franklin (145, 182, 195 & 220) could have multiple champs and will score elsewhere.

Mifflin, for my couple pennies, could have numerous champs (120, 126, 152, 160, 170 & 285) and will score elsewhere. BOLD = almost 100% lock!

All depends on who shows up focused and ready to rumble! : thumbup:

The professional response - sir, or madam, it was posted several times from several posters that this years city championship was a wide open race, that would most likely come down to west, whetstone, Mifflin, walnut ridge, with sleepers centennial, Brookhaven, and Marion Franklin. Ultimately, as previously stated on this forum, the team that showed up that day and wrestled the best team effort was the team that was going to pull it out. Since the top seven teams were the teams listed throughout the predictions of this forum, I would agree with coach blue that you were not paying attention. Congrats to whetstone, and also to centennial, both had great team efforts and showed up that day.

Silly response - whetstone had the karma, and you are a peacock, take your head out of the bedsheets and read the previous posts.
