Tellers are pretty much useless. Deposit checks through my phone and cash at ATM.

Wouldn't say completely useless but yes 99% of the time you should just deposit from your mobile phone or an ATM.Raw Dawgin' it;1566976 wrote:Tellers are pretty much useless. Deposit checks through my phone and cash at ATM.

Just stfu and get put on the account or have your wife do it. Problem solved.Belly35;1566574 wrote:My wife and I have several banking accounts between three different banks.
Some account I’m not listed and the same for her.
We have been doing business with this one bank for years the teller know our names and we visit this bank almost every Saturday morning with deposits together.
So the wife hands me some cash and a deposit slip that she need deposited this morning. NOT A PROBLEM
On my way to the office (really breakfast) I pull into the drive up window, place the cash and deposit slip in the tube.
Teller: Hi Belly … can I see your ID
I’m thinking.. you know my name and who I am
Belly: You need my ID .. why?
Teller: With cash deposit we have to verify
Belly: It’s a “deposit only” cash into a well establish account….
Send her my ID
Teller: Belly We can deposit this , you’re not on the account
Belly: I know that .. we’ve been doing this for years
Teller: New policy
Belly: So let me understand this. I’m giving you cash, deposit only, into a establish account, where we have multiple accounts with substantial amount, you know who my wife and I are and now you can’t make this transaction.
Teller: Your wife will have to put you on the account or she will have to make the deposit.
Belly: I know you did make this rule/policy change… But could you please tell the manager I would like a call with the name of the asshole who came up this change. Please mention that if my cash and my wife cash is good to be deposited .. it’s cash, the currency of America.
. Please send me back the deposit slip and cash..
Teller: Here is a flier of the policy changes also
Belly: What happens if I would have dropped this in the night deposit?
Teller: We would have deposited but not until tomorrow.
Belly: Really . Does it benefit the Bank to get as much money in as deposit, to start gaining interest?
Teller: I don’t know. But Mr. Belly all banks will have to have this policy...
Belly: So this is something that you've been told to do by the Goverment?
Teller: I think so
Note : was nice to the teller, she just the front line person and she knew this was an stupid policy. Common sense would tell you this..
This is crazy … ”Deposit only “cash is not good anymore…if you’re not on the account
Thoughts and Opinions?

While many of you are walking around with your head up an ATM or digital banking techno ease of your accounts, haven’t you learned anything over that past few months?
You've never experienced the death of a parent or nursing care clueless and don’t care.
Ohio Estate Tax over $500.000 your parents have a joint accounts, business, property and one dies … wake up while your cashing in at the ATM your parents accounts could be locked up and your future inheritance decreased. What mommy thought was to be a save and secure life style just turned bad.
Check this term “Spend Down” while you’re impressed with your digital banking savvy your one parent who is now place into a nursing care those joint accounts, home, business, banking are being drained and drained quickly. But hey! The single ATM card, digital banking, joint signed accounts was your idea…
Some know so much but learn and experience so little.

Here's a question... if you open an account for your children, and deposit money into it until your death, will it be subject to the estate tax once you're gone? I would assume not. If not, then that is a good way to escape tax and pass inheritance on to future generations.Belly35;1567038 wrote:While many of you are walking around with your head up an ATM or digital banking techno ease of your accounts, haven’t you learned anything over that past few months?

The one thing that "bothers" me on this.
If you go and try to do this during the day when a teller can see your face, you must show ID and be on the account.
But if you do it after hours wehre they CANNOT see you and see who is doing it, then it is ok.

Apparently the corporate entity known as Belly hasn't figured out that it only takes a short period of time to sort through mail to determine what is junk mail and what might be worth trying to open to see if it has meaning. I mean, I never look at junk mail, but if something comes with my bank's name on the envelope, I take the time to open it to see if it's important or just a generic offer for credit or whatever.Curly J;1567051 wrote:So an envelope addressed from your bank would be considered Junk mail ???

Correct The different is that the money deposited in the night box is recorded that next morning but if the tell would of made the transaction when I pulled up the money (cash) would be immediate available and my wife could write a check with in the next minute.
Question if some of you do a money transfer from one account to another is the money immediately available within minutes?
I do money transfer to foreign accounts and many of my business vendors also transfer fund to my account but this generally take additional 24 hour to clear.

To the best of my knowledge if this is a joint account and your name is listedernest_t_bass;1567068 wrote:Answer this...
In death ... if your estate is over $500,000 than that amount is taxed
In Nursing care: That account 1/2 maybe all ??? will be part of the Spend Down cost of care.

Note: If I get a statement I'm interested in the statment not the junk within. So yes I would not take the time to read the other secondary 4 fliers within the statement. If it so important why cluster fuck the information.Heretic;1567075 wrote:Apparently the corporate entity known as Belly hasn't figured out that it only takes a short period of time to sort through mail to determine what is junk mail and what might be worth trying to open to see if it has meaning. Please tell me more...Like what this has to do with online banking? My mom can't create a SQL database but she can online bank just as good as me. They design interfaces for the computer illiterate. Also, why does it seem you always have to try to make yourself sound better than EVERYONE else on this board. I can't believe you act this way in real life.Belly35;1567038 wrote:Please make note: Belly career in computer extends to the early days of computer HP Easy Draft II/plotters, Auto Desk, Apple MacII Computer Aid Design, T1 Communication CAD file Transfer, OCE operational system, IBM File servers/pc connectivity and present the design and development of special designed instrumentation HEX code programmed. Two solutions: 1. Get on your wife's account if you're going to be making cash deposits 2. Write her a check from your personal account (at the same bank). Both will result in immediate availability of funds.

Yes it does. The teller is competent enough to check the account where the money is being held (yours) before depositing said check into your wife's account. If she forgets to check, then the system should check for funds availability before printing a receipt.Belly35;1567113 wrote:writing a check from the same bank but with different account does not mean immediate transfer of funds..
Or, she will just do a funds transfer for you.
