We should all be embarrassed that we're flying our flags at half staff for a commie terrorist. Revisionist history is sickening. All the talk about what he did for civil rights and human rights...he was a communist. Government in and of itself is a violation of human and civil rights. The comparisons to MLK are disgusting. This is a man who used violence to promote his worldview and had no remorse for it. Nelson Mandela can burn in hell.

Let me let you in on a secret: ALL history is revisionist history. Please see my post above about the American Revolution and Civil War. One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. One man's war hero is another man's tyrant. Welcome to history 101.Me?;1551510 wrote:We should all be embarrassed that we're flying our flags at half staff for a commie terrorist. When we fought for our independence, did we bomb civilian filled locations in London and provoke it? Or did we declare our freedom and then defend ourselves against their MILITARY invasion? The circumstances of the situation dictate who is a freedom fighter and who is a terrorist. Either side can look at it however they want, but the real circumstances remain the same regardless of what either side in any conflict says.Mooney44Cards;1551516 wrote:Let me let you in on a secret: ALL history is revisionist history. Nelson Mandela was a communist piece of shit that took power under the guise of being about the people, while killing people and then made huge dollars by exploiting the position the people gave him.
And I Wear Pants, there has never been anything in the history of the world that has violated human rights more than government, it's not even close....at all. Democide alone claimed as many as a quarter billion lives in the 20th century. All in the name of freedom, or progress, or "human rights", etc.

Also, aren't you gay? Do you feel like being able to marry is a human rights issue? Government dictates that you can't. That is a direct violation of your human right to love and care for whomever you desire. Anything that is a violation of individual freedom is a violation of human rights. He was a COMMUNIST. The entire ideology is based around collectivism and therefore the antithesis of individual freedom and human rights.

You keep yelling communist like this is the 50s and McCarthy still has us all scared. Communism is an imperfect political ideology much like capitalism is. Marx was far better at diagnosing societal problems than he was at offering up solutions.Me?;1551552 wrote:Also, aren't you gay? Do you feel like being able to marry is a human rights issue? Uhhh..no one died. You could argue that the taxation without representation is what provoked the Tea Party. So, actually, you're quite wrong.lhslep134;1551571 wrote:Uhm we attacked their ships in Boston Harbor to provoke it. So to answer your question, yes.

And yeah, I hate communism and the scum bag totalitarians who convince people to support it for nothing but their own benefit. Communism is probably the largest single cause of human rights violations in the history of the world.

If you were born in a country that allowed you no citizenship, no property rights, no education, and no medicine based solely upon the color of your skin; and made it a crime to protest peacefully - punishable by decades in prison - how exactly would you go about rectifying your situation. Comparing the treatment of colonists in the US versus black south Africans is not valid.
Nelson Mandela wasn't perfect and never claimed to be. In fact he did not like the beautification that occurred (primarily outside S. Africa) on his behalf. He fought the aparthied government with the only means at his disposal. The armed conflict his group initiated (most of which occurred after he was in prison) was done in an effort to disrupt the power of the aparthied regime. This was the only recourse his group saw against a ruling minority that had no regard for his people based upon one attribute. And from what I've read, his alliances with communist influences were the result of the fact that those groups were the only ones that gave him support. His efforts to reach out to western powers for support previous to this were rebuked.

I kind of admire John Brown, who it cannot be argued was a terrorist. He was a violent extreme radical abolitionist and he give his life for his cause. He killed some "innocent" people (if you can call people who support slavery "innocent").
"I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away but with blood."

Yes, the only choices when faced with a tyrannical racist government are leaving or murdering children. Leaving is for cowards so the children must die.Me?;1551609 wrote:So, you also would have chose to murder innocent children?
Seriously gfy with your ridiculous "oh you don't want to piss on Mandela's grave with me? You must hate freedom and kill kids" schtick.

First of all, you have no context. Allied fighting in Europe during WWII cost the lives of children. That is not tantamount to murder. Likewise, those fighting aparthied did not set out to kill innocents since that didn't advance their cause. Secondarily, your solution of "leaving" is not practical. Tens of millions - many of which have literally no possesions - cannot just "leave" with no means.Me?;1551601 wrote:I would have left. You would have murdered innocent children?
Mandela came of age during a horrible and sometimes violent struggle against an immoral foe. He was a product of those times. On top of that, he eveolved as all people do to not only embrace peace himself, but to lead in the reconciliation of all affected parties. Not a perfect man. But someone who fought on the right side of a worthy cause and who learned from his experiences along the way.
