Question: From just kinda-sorta watching the commercials for it, what I got was "The dude from Taken in a movie that's essentially like Taken except it's not called Taken". In reality, is that essentially true or is it something different that just got marketed like that for whatever reasons?se-alum;1661271 wrote:A Walk Among The Tombstones 8/10.

looks pretty good. Been trying to find out if it was based, even loosely, on a true story or not.

Fury looks like it's either going to be really good or really bad with no middle area

I thought the same thing going in, but really the only similarities is Liam Neeson is in it, and there is a kidnapping. This isn't Neeson being a badass all movie.Heretic;1661291 wrote:Question: From just kinda-sorta watching the commercials for it, what I got was "The dude from Taken in a movie that's essentially like Taken except it's not called Taken". I also concur. Strange movie. I thought the acting was excellent. The ending sucked and the movie started dragging in the middle.bigdaddy2003;1661587 wrote:I concur. Horrible ending

My wife knew the ending because she read the book. I didn't. I loved the entire thing. Until the end. I cannot stand movies that don't come to some type of conclusion.GoPens;1661591 wrote:I also concur. Strange movie. I thought the acting was excellent. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I have read the book. I had the same reaction at the end of the book. Didn't care for the ending.

The book really is excellent. I didn't "enjoy" the ending, but I thought it was cleverly written. Not everything has to have a happy ending that is all wrapped up in a nice little bow.O-Trap;1661668 wrote:It's safe to say that I'm never watching this movie.

This. I think the problem I had with the ending is I just hoping it to end a certain way and when it didn't end the way I wanted, I was disappointed.Fab4Runner;1661670 wrote:The book really is excellent. Get out of here. I thought Noah was terrible. Rock people? Are you serious?O-Trap;1660623 wrote:Finally watched Noah.
7/10. Giant rock things were kinda badass, and I thought the interpretation of the story was creative (in a good way), but it was WAY too long.

Sure. Why not? It didn't have a limp ending.SportsAndLady;1661669 wrote:Yet you watch Noah
I don't mind a not-so-happy ending (see above about Noah). The way people make it sound reminds me of the Grapes of Wrath book. Steinbeck ended the damn thing in the middle of a somewhat climactic (if you can call it that) event. It felt like he wrote 90% of a book and then gave up.Fab4Runner;1661670 wrote:The book really is excellent. I didn't "enjoy" the ending, but I thought it was cleverly written. An ambivalent-turned-benevolent character amid the protagonists and antagonists. I appreciated more than just two sides entering into the mix. They looked weird, but hell, there are plenty of movies with weird-looking characters.Scarlet_Buckeye;1661800 wrote:Get out of here. I thought Noah was terrible. Rock people? Are you serious?
As I said, I thought it was way too long, but otherwise, what was so bad about it?
