I pay $15 at easton for those power recliners they are great and it's 21+ so it eliminates between price and age most of the annoying people who see movies at easton who don't know how to shut the fuck up

Lawless is awesome. Shia Labeouf is a baller.

I got The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford a couple of months ago as part of an Amazon fun pack, but haven't watch it yet. Hoping to watch it soon. Anyone here like it?

Just watched Die Hard for the first time. 8/10. Very much enjoyed it.

Very good movie...little slow, so if your preference is action, may not be the movie for you.

Casey Affleck and Brad Pitt are phenomenal.

Thanks. And no, I don't care that much for action-centric films. The opposite is what I prefer actually. I mean, I like some action, but dramas are more my thing. I have a friend who will only watch a movie if it's a comedy or if at least 10 people are killed by blood splatter/things blowing up. That's just ridiculous IMO. Lol.

Movies like Heat, where there is great build-up and character development, mixed in with some action, are my favorite.

Awesome.

I can just as easily watch a movie with almost no action at all, where there is simply nothing but casual, everyday dialogue for the most part, built around great character studies. If a film lacks character depth, I generally don't want to watch it. For anyone else like that, check out Game 6 with Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr.. It's excellent.

Watched that the other day and it's a perfect 10.

I'm kinda the same way, give me a believable drama any day over the big production movies. In fact, my favorite movie of the year was probably The Kings of Summer.

I agree that there ought to be complexity for a movie to be considered good (though I can admit that I enjoy the occasional shameless shoot-em-up). However, I hated the Heat. Sans the revelation of the primary antagonist in the end, it was pretty predictable, and a lot of the comedy seemed to rely too heavily (for me, anyway, as this is an issue of preference, of course) on either crude humor or minor physical humor ... maybe Dane Cook meets the Three Stooges.

Are we talking about the same movie?

I'm talking about the movie that starred Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Val Kilmer and Natalie Portman, which might be a top 50 movie of all-time with one of the most dramatic endings to any film ever. The Moby soundtrack was killer.

Are you talking about the Sandra Bullock chick flick? Lol.

I liked it because it has to do with things most every kid went through at the age. The building of a house in the middle of the woods is slightly far-fetched, but not as much as shooting 30 rounds out of a gun that holds 10-12 rounds at most. Check out The Spectacular Now as well, really like it.

Whew. You scared the shit out of me. That being a recent movie, it was the one I thought you meant.

I was being nice before. That movie was awful.

I haven't seen Heat (the one you were referring to) in over ten years, but yeah, THAT'S a good movie.

Went to watch the Wolf of Wall St last night (figured I'd save myself the pain of another Cowboys Week 17 let down). My review is kind of like the others..Thought it was alright, kind of funny, and was way too long.

Has anyone seen Her yet with Joaquin Phoenix?

It's an interesting turn for Phoenix, but some of his best work derives from playing offbeat characters. While the plot is weird -- Phoenix's character falls in love with a computer voiced by Scarlett Johansson -- I am a big fan of the actor's work and love his co-star Rooney Mara, so I will definitely check it out. Phoenix is great in roles that require him to show a wide range of emotions and this unusual drama centered on an emotionally-disturbed man who becomes romantically involved with a computer should provide that. The reviews have been good, at least.

Not a movie, but I'm currently working my way through season 4 of Justified in preparation for the season 5 premier next week. That show is sweet.

Ocean's Eleven (remake with Clooney) - I don't like the idea of just handing out 10s, but I honestly can't think of anything that would have made this movie better.

The first one was awesome. I liked the next 2 but they weren't anything special IMO.

Yeah, I'm definitely referring to the first one. I liked the third one pretty well. The second was okay, but the whole Julia Roberts playing Tess playing Julia Roberts just made me angry. I don't hate meta plots, but that was just weak.
