Great thread! I'm a hopeful entrepreneur (one of these days).

I'd love to own a fitness center that has a lot of different things in it -- primarily indoor soccer with all other amenities too.

Attached to it would be a sports bar.

My grandparents owned a pizza shop when I was younger that i'd help out sometimes with. I've made their pizza recipe every Saturday for 8 years now. For nostalgic reasons I'd open my pizza shop.

Ownership of business is not all that some think it is ... Been there done that

How just for fun and to have something to do…. Two ideas:

1. Weapon Camp … designed to teach, train, instruction on safety and shoot different weapons. Family friendly w/ cabins, lodge and other events .
2. Is a Arcade Game room serving Beer and Hot Dogs … with old school Arcade game line up along the wall, three or four big screen video game and table some people could watch other player.

I have a few more also : Slot Car Dinner
Warehouse Street Rod Cruise

What exactly would you be importing and exporting...Latex?

Ive thought about this. The sad thing for me lies in the fact that where I find passion (HS and NCAA wrestling), I find very little opportunity to create wealth.

I would import matches. I would also import chips (potato and corn) and export diapers.

That's a good one. I'm a big fan of gastropugs. Small, simple menu, quality ingredients, good beer and cocktail selection.

I always toss around the idea of the self serve yogurt places. I'd imagine the upkeep is minimal.

There is a place locally that pretty much has all you are asking for. Indoor soccer field, fitness center, tennis courts, swimming pool, and had a bar in it as well. Oh, and a 9 hole par 3 golf course around it. They are looking for buyers as it has been closed for a few years. A couple of local floods devastated the place.

Yep.

Two floods ruined it. The new spillway lets out so much more water than the old one, but they didnt do anything to expand where the water goes. A number of farmers down the road have won some lawsuits because of the excessive flooding that has occurred. That place I am talking about did win som emoney but not near enough to reopen. They still rent out and use the indoor soccer for winter leagues though.

Loved going to that place.....work out, play hoops, do whatever and then sit and have a few beers! Counter productive I know...but still a blast.

We used it last year for our Flag fball practices. That place has unlimited potential.

I'd open up a LAN/gaming center near OSU. It would double as an internet cafe with coffee and whatnot, but the main draw would be PC/console gaming.

The old bookstore at the corner of 15th and High would be a perfect location for it.

No doubt. I dont think they are insurable though and another flood would do the same. they built up the hills around it that helps but still can be an issue. The hills probably make it so the golf course wouldnt be resurrected. Very big area and with two gyms that opened and doing well it would be hard to get that place going full bore again.

They used to be open until 1am a couple of times a week...Pretty sure I gained weight eating and drinking at the place over the years!!!
