Yeah, anyone that questions him going for two doesn't understand the rivalry.
Funny thing, in my head I was thinking, man, if they get that, the Old Woody quote, going for 2 will come up again.
Also, looking it up, the Game has never went in OT.

congrats on your right call.

I agree with the decision to go for 2, but that was a shitty play call. Gotta spread the field if you are going to pass with a couple yards ago. Stack 3 guys on one side? LOL.

This is correct, this is Michigan's super bowl, obviously they didn't have the season that they expected, but it is still a solid team and everything they worked for in practice and the off-season was intended to beat Ohio State in the Big House. And again it didn't happen.Fly4Fun;1544952 wrote:It's the rivalry game. Records go out the window.

I don't recall, but that makes it even a dumber play call imo. Showing the same formation for the most important play of the game.Fly4Fun;1544983 wrote:worked for them earlier on the left side of I recall correctly.

Shazier said Michigan ran the play the D thought they would. Said there was one other they thought it could be but that was the one they were looking for.like_that;1544991 wrote:I don't recall, but that makes it even a dumber play call imo. I said this would be closer than most expected, though I didn't think it would be that close. I loved it though, a true OSU\MICH rivalry game. Also, Carlos Hyde is the best back in the country.

Apparently Hoke asked the seniors what they wanted to do, they said go for it

Had no service near the stadium today. Different scUM fans around me were arguing among themselves about the call. Seems like a significant number of them thought he did the right thing but some thought he should have taken the home field momentum into OT. I'm happy with his decision.

WHAT??? Did you ever watch 45 or just old black and white films? Do you know he rarely played in the 4th quarter? He played in 4 Rose Bowls. Which other back can say that? Hyde is very good, but he's no Archie. However, he does have more hits on women than Arch, so you've got that one.Footwedge;1544961 wrote:What a game. Hoke did the right thing there. Chances of scoring a 2 pointer much better than 50-50. And Carlos Hyde is the best OSU running back....ever. And yes...I watched Archie for 4 years. Eddie George? Not even close. Beanie? LMAO.

Cause we all know RB's are solely responsible for getting their team to the Rose Bowl. Not saying Archie wasn't great, but your reasoning is highly flawed.BGFalcons82;1545200 wrote:WHAT??? Hyde is not better than Eddie, heck he's just as good as Beanie was. Lets not forget Beanie had 1600 and 1200 yard seasons his Soph and Junior years with his last year hampered a bit by injuries. Averaged 6 yards a rush his whole career as well and had maybe a little better breakaway speed

Hyde has over 1200 yards, while missing virtually 4 games. He would be looking at 1700 yards, at least, with a full season.Classyposter58;1545222 wrote:Hyde is not better than Eddie, heck he's just as good as Beanie was. I think that Clarett could have gone down in history as the best ever, at least top 3. Idiot, he is.Sonofanump;1545245 wrote:George>Griffin>Byars>Hyde*>Smith>Wells>Pittman>Spencer>Clarett>Wiley>Johnson>Harris>Pearson>Snow

Maybe he could have ended up better than Pittman, but can't see him better than Wells.ernest_t_bass;1545257 wrote:I think that Clarett could have gone down in history as the best ever, at least top 3. Idiot, he is.

To each his own but I disagree, if you put Wells in this kind of offense he would have been far more explosive than in the super conservative Tressel one. With a Read Option attack he would be dominant, but George is #1 easily. Hell he even went on to be one of the best NFL RB's ever, at 24th all time in rushing yards with 7 thousand yard seasons including a 4 year stretch where he was arguably the best in the leaguerydawg5;1545234 wrote:Hyde is better than Beanie.

MoC was a beast. I envisioned him matching Archie's 2 Heisman's. It's always gonna be a a "what coulda been."Sonofanump;1545259 wrote:Maybe he could have ended up better than Pittman, but can't see him better than Wells.
