Anyone have a Roku? I'm thinking about it as a Christmas gifts. Is it as good as advertised would you buy it again?

I got one for my mom a few years ago and they use it all the time. I would definitely recommend getting one.

We have 2. I prefer it a million times over an AppleTV. I run a plex server on my desktop and play movies/shows through that on it.

We have the original roku in the bedroom and a roku 2 xs (or something like that) in the family room. We have loved them both, they are simple to control (which is nice when our parents come to watch the kids occasionally) and have worked great for years.

Can you pretty much stream anything? Could I stream my laptop (running Mavericks), iPhone 5c, and iPad (all running iOS7)?

Also (yes, I know I could go and read online reviews), what would be the benefit of a Roku 3, over a Roku HD, Roku 2, etc.?

Based on this, I'll probably now get a Roku for one TV, and an Apple TV for another.

I'm assuming every Roku has access to the same exact channels? The Roku 3 won't get access to more than the others?
