Basically any ad that isn't a pop-up, doesn't obscure the page, and isn't obnoxiously huge is fine by me. The ads on this site are really unobtrusive.Con_Alma;1540489 wrote:I can't imagine not having ad block. Who comes here to see ads???:RpS_angry:

The problem is, without them, most websites like this wouldn't exist without charging.Con_Alma;1540489 wrote:I can't imagine not having ad block. Who comes here to see ads???:RpS_angry:

I agree with this. Which is why I don't include all of the bullshit pop-up and autoplay video ads. Or infolinks.I Wear Pants;1540491 wrote:Basically any ad that isn't a pop-up, doesn't obscure the page, and isn't obnoxiously huge is fine by me. The ads on this site are really unobtrusive.

They all have the same channels but Roku keeps adding functionality and the 3 has the fastest hardware so it's the most likely to keep getting new features when they add them.ernest_t_bass;1540481 wrote:I'm assuming every Roku has access to the same exact channels? I think I'll pick up a Roku 3, and use my current Apple TV with my other TV, and compare.wes_mantooth;1540498 wrote:Quicker interface and usb media support....which some models don't have

I'm getting two brand new (small) HD TV's, so that won't be an issue. I'll probably get a 24" and a 32".wes_mantooth;1540511 wrote:It probably doesn't matter, but the roku 3 is hdmi only. I hooked one up for a friend and she was actually out of hdmi inputs

With an Apple TV you can. I think a Roku is superior unless you are invested in Apple products which I think make Apple TV (with airplay) better.ernest_t_bass;1540464 wrote:Can you pretty much stream anything? Could I stream my laptop (running Mavericks), iPhone 5c, and iPad (all running iOS7)?

Since purchasing my Apple TV, I totally cut out my cable TV. I can get almost any show on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime (shared with roommates) and for sports it has Watch ESPN, or I airplay a stream.
Has been saving me about $40/mo. Won't be going back.

Only thing that sucks for me is DISH does not have watch ESPN. Can you pay just for Watch espn? What do you do for live sports?chicago510;1540865 wrote:Since purchasing my Apple TV, I totally cut out my cable TV. NFL and College FB is 95% on broadcast TV or ESPN. For other random stuff (like on FS1 or NBCSports) I stream it.ernest_t_bass;1540912 wrote:Only thing that sucks for me is DISH does not have watch ESPN. Can you pay just for Watch espn? What do you do for live sports?
I use my girlfriends cable info to get watch ESPN and BTN2Go because you can't purchase them a la carte or anything.
Admittedly, with school I only have about 5-10 hours a week to watch sports. If I had every evening free it may be a bit annoying.
