lol that brings back bad memories of me being catfished before. So, everytime I chat with someone online, I am always careful. I find that casual hookup community are usually more often to be a real person. Just like the one I found at http://www.freedatinghelper.com/reviews/ihookup/

+1. Some pretty hot and successful female friends of mine don't have time to hit the bar/normal dating scene because of school/work, and they do or have done match.com or something similar.

Also, does anyone think its awkward/embarassing when you have to tell your family you met so and so online?

My roommate's parents are very conservative and still under the impression that he met his current girlfriend at school.

when i went through a divorce in 03 i did match.com for a few months. it was a nice distraction, didnt actually made a really good friend out of it that i am friends with to this day. it was hard starting over because i had zero female friends at that time basically so it was truly starting over. after a month or so it became unneccessary as i moved to a new part of town and met a lot of new people. i wasnt embarrassed about it at all and would have told my parents about it if it came up.

I used OkCupid a few times nobody was a psycho.

Also used grindr but only to talk because I was assuming anyone on there had some horrible stds.

Grindr like Tinder? Sounds classy with a name like Grindr.

Tinder is like Grindr. Grindr came out in 2009, Tinder in 2012. Grindr only caters to gay dudes though. The interface is basically a map with other users in the area showing up with short profiles and photos. Most people seem to use it to hook up but I was always terrified of getting murdered or getting the clap so I just used it to chat.
