Kind of a spinoff from the Single Guys thread. Has anyone actually tried online dating? I never have, but the idea is pretty solid. There's obviously an inherent risk of meeting someone online, but there have also been many instances where it has worked. Have you or could you ever see yourself using a dating site to find someone?

I have a feeling the only girls on dating websites are girls that nobody wants to date anyway (crazy, fat, etc).

Depends. How about Jdate. There's some cute MoT on there because their daddy's force them to marry jewish and theres only like 2 of us in the world.

I'm sure there are plenty of those types on there, but I think there are also plenty that are not like that, for whatever, they have a hard time finding the right person, and use online dating as another option.

Yeah, I bring my one buddy to this Jewish event that I go to once a month that is free and is catered by Cameron Mitchells and has an open bar. He pretends to be jewish and since I vouch he rakes in. They all believe it. You'd be surprised by how different everybody there looks, you could never pick out (besides maybe like 10%) who "looks jewish" as a stereotype.

Not true at all. One of my friends tried online dating and ended up meeting her current boyfriend, whom she now lives with and will probably marry. She is funny, smart, a successful attorney and is very, very beautiful.

There are plenty of women with careers and women in professional school on dating websites. I know of at least 5 or 6 girls that my wife knows from Veterinary school that are all pretty awesome who are doing online dating or have done online dating.

I haven't but if I were single it would be the first place I went. Esp if you live in a city. A lot of my friends have had great experiences with online dating, from random hook ups to serious relationships.

I could see how it would be a good thing though.......get to go through tons of profiles/pics in little time instead of the old fashioned way of picking them up in public places.
