Wow, unreal.

If I'm 23 years old, 3 billion cash offer on the table?? SOLD!

Zuckerberg held out, and it worked out for him.
Yeah same here man. 3 billion uhhh yes please! He won't be getting a better offer.

Morons. Snapchat has that "chatroulette" feel to it. Flash in the pan and then worthless.

I don't use it but I can understand why it's so popular. Just makes me wish it was around when I was in college(since that's when smart phones started) high school boys have it so good now a days haha.

I agree with this. I have friends on it and they've shown it to me but I really don't get the appeal. At all.

fuck that. I prefer the sexts I got in HS when the girls had no option which way to send it. You got to keep those for as long as you want. Now, if a girl sees you screenshot a snap chat you get bitched at and dont get any more.

Zuckerberg turned down a billion and it was the right move. I've seen several articles out there saying the Snapchat creators also did the right thing. It's still hard for me to understand their decision....3 billion. CASH. FUCK.

The real value of snapchat is the press-to-hold to see the pic. Perfect spot for advertisements, as you are looking at the screen the whole time. Could be more valuable than Facebook or twitter for advertising purposes

I feel like ads popping up when I am trying to see a picture for 2 seconds is something that would make me stop using it REAL quick. Baffled at them turning it down. This isn't facebook with a ton of potential. Snapchat is what it is. SELL.

I don't doubt that. Perhaps there's someone that will give them more money. I don't understand the reasoning for holding out on three billion dollars, though. How much more money do you need in life?? For their sake, hopefully someone will offer them something like that again.

That's why you get snap save. It doesn't send the person that notification.

If you take the $3 billion.....no possible negatives

If you don't.......you might be suicidal in 5 years

And yes they could get more, but not sure anyone could fathom the difference between 3 billion and 10 billion

It would eat me alive if I sold for 3 billion but could have gotten 10 billion if I waited.

I mean yeah I'm still a billionaire but 7 billion is a ton.

Care to tell me what you are going to buy that 3 billion can't buy. I think you being the richest guy in Illinois should help you with your suffering.

You could own the Reds, Browns and Cavs and have enough left set everyone in your family for 3+ generations.

Can't read the article...

A lot depends on the investors and who has the majority of votes. PE/VC guys can be very persasive, especially when a single 10-bagger can save an otherwise struggling portfolio. The economics are very different for them - they gain very little, personally, on this deal if the rest of their portfolio is sucking air. They get 20% of the returns of their FUND, so $3B could be no performance fee while $4B could bring them millions.

Nothing. But I could have 100 billion dollars, and would still lose sleep over losing 7 Billion.

Or he could go to zero which is what usually happens to companies with no profit much less no revenue. Gut said it best, "Cash is king" and you aren't going anywhere if you only survive off VC cash.

At $3 billion dollars, you could spend $205,000 PER DAY over the next 40 years(not even counting any interest earned from your cash). $3 billion is well past the point where money even matters anymore.

Oh i definitely think he should have taken the 3B offer. I just don't agree with saying once you have 3B there is no difference between that and 10B
