Walmart has a couple, but I think there is one at target that is amazing...like a 50 inch for sub 250 or something like that.

yeah, it is some offbrand for sure. If you do your research though, some of the offbrands are pretty decent. The avs forum is where I go.

And I did. $149 at Target for the XL, which is $50 off. I'll have to venture there, although since I refuse to do the "wake up at buttfuck o'clock to get there in the middle of the morning" bullshit, it'll be a coin flip (at best) as to if I actually find/get one.

They're both LCD really, the difference is how the lighting of the panel is done. LED is better if everything else is the same. But panel quality is more important. A shitty TN panel will still look bad lit with LEDs and an IPS display would probably look fine with fluorescent lighting.

TL;DR: Look at the quality of the particular tv rather than focusing on the tech. But generally a cheap LED LCD will be better than a non-LED one.

Just get the best tv for the money you want to spend and then add a Roku. All the built in smart shit sucks and usually isn't supported for long.

Insignia uses Samsung panels I believe.

Also, I agree with others about using roku or a chromecast

They do. My Insignia reports itself as a Samsung when I plug it into my Mack Miniature.
