I've found that one way to combat that is to start threads about stuff that does interest you.

<--------Lurker

I usually never post because dlazz posts "Hope that helps." Instant turnoff. I usually go take a shower after reading that.

Belly keeps me engaged with his gun-nut, anti-Obama posts. Riveting stuff.

The best way I've found is to reheat it in a skillet on a stove, but I will eat it cold.

I have to admit that I am probably one of the ultimate lurkers on the site. I generally have the OC up while at work, 9-5 Monday thru Friday. But as evidenced by my post count, I hardly post. Why is this? Can't really think of one thing, in particular. Sometimes content is lacking. Sometimes I am afraid that I might ruffle someone's feathers with my thoughts/opinions. Sometimes I just don't feel like part of "the group" because it seems like there are cliques on the site. Hard to pinpoint an exact reason.

I will try to make an effort to post more.

Carry on.

Rustling jimmies (or ruffling feathers) is part of the fun. Have at it. :)

As for "the group" you tend to get that with every forum. But we are a pretty accepting crowd. The people that get the brunt of the crap on here are regular members that would technically be in "the group" anyway.

What a load of shit. I know of one particular member that are you FORBIDDEN by act of god from making fun of. I can't even mention his name because I'll be banned for even insinuating any joke about said person.

Maybe this member is turned off because he doesn't know when its appropriate to make jokes and when it isn't. Consistency is always a problem.

I don't think that you are referring to FairwoodKing, because I jumped on him pretty good about a year ago, or so. LOL

To piggyback off of this, I would think that our group of assholes/faux moderators that try to dictate content by jumping all over the OP if they don't like the person or the topic makes people a little gun shy.

I don't start threads, I just take shits in them.

To me moderators should be leading and enhancing discussion, not just infracting people who they think are assholes. I know when I moderated a much larger forum, I was told by administration to add content and induce a healthy debate on every thread. I think the current moderators are terrible in that they never produce content and mostly never post. Why being a forum leader if you just read and occasionally infract?

I read a lot, don't post all the time where I read.

I get tired of numerous posters, I've hidden two and it's better. I hate when people don't keep to threads so I don't post. Either participate in the discussion or don't take up space on a monitor with garbage.

Off topic (ha!)...you don't have to commit "full-time" to coach. Why not just commit to a day or two (or whenever you can) a week? Many coaches are grateful for SOME help. It doesn't have to be all the time, but it keeps you there and kids enjoy the added attention. It's also nice to stay in it as much as you can if the time comes where increased commitment can happen.

What is the post number to not be a lurker anymore??? I came here because of JJ Huddles mistake. Follow wrestling but I spend more time on the forum than wrestling (I think)! I'm not lurking but I do know some people that won't post anymore because of intimidation. I don't care though...Lurkers are lurkers & haters are haters;).

I read a lot of the threads but if I think I don't have anything to add I don't post. I will try to become more active.

The position isn't full time anyway. It was practice Tuesday and Thursday and tournaments on Sunday. The problem is I had to leave work at 3:30 on practice days and I'm not able to do that this year. I did offer to help out when I can but I just can't be the "head" coach.

Probably talking about that crazy guy who was the father of those really good twins who went from Tuslaw to Waynedale, had OHSAA issues with the transfer rule and then he came here, Yappi and JJ going crazy blasting the OHSAA, Tuslaw parents, Tuslaw athletes, Tuslaw coaches, Tuslaw administration, etc. which led other people to jump on picking sides, which led to 500-page shouting matches.

It was entertaining in that trainwreck sort of way that watching your sports team get mauled 68-0 by a great team. You hate what's happening, but you can't stop watching because you're watching a great team just put on a clinic with huge plays and stuff and in a way, you kinda of like it because if you're gonna lose, it might as well be in a way where all you can do is shake your head and laugh as opposed in the way where you're pissed off for a week because that damn fucking kicker went wide left on a 31-yard gamewinner.
