i agree with this...i enjoy good steak but i also really like a1. i put it on a lot of things actually. after 5-6 bites of even a good steak i like to add a lil something to it to break the same taste over and over.

I prefer medium-rare, but I don't trust many restaurants so I order medium.

Steak medium-rare if cooked and season right is heaven on a fork. Cold steak sandwich or cold steak add to a salad is also great eats.
The Clock little corner dinner in Bowling Green many years ago 1971 ( is it still open?) served a breakfast special $4.50 I think was the cost.
Two egg, hash browns, steak and toast … The steak was not of the finest quality but cook in butter and with the help of A1 on the steak, little A1 runnage into the hash browns so good. Every Saturday morning the girl friend (now wife) and I would enjoy this early morning breakfast good memories… mofo

This is my philosophy with burgers. I really don't order steak unless I'm at a restaurant that I have no worries ordering it medium-rare.

Always order medium rare. Not too worried because they pretty much always over cook them a little bit anyways probably for their own liability.

i also like to get the mushrooms/onions option...oscar style is pretty good at the right restaraunt...not a big fan of the gorgonzola crust although if done right i like it

Medium rare is the only way to cook a steak. I have a friend that works at is a chef at a nice restaurant on the east coast and he'll only prepare a steak 2 ways. Rare or Medium Rare. Someone asks for medium or well done, they get medium rare.

While I'm not the biggest steak fan in the 1 or perhaps 2 times a yr I eat a steak, its medium rare.

I am on the "don't use any sauce" team when eating steak. If you use any sauce or condiments on your the steak, it either really sucks ass or you need to eat at the redneck table.

You know what I'm trying to say though... Probably just butt hurt because you belong to the redneck table.

If you have to use any sauce on a steam, you need to stop going to Ponderosa for your steams. A good steam NEVER needs sauce.

Always used to sauce my steam, but not anymore. Agreed, if it is truly a good one you dont need it. I only recently bought into the concept. Found a great, cheap marinade at the store I use, local brand, basically cracked pepper and something else. Pop it on the grill for a few minutes and a delicious med rare/rare steam and no sauce needed.

You're right.

Fun while it lasted.
