I'm going to the Bengals-Lions game so if it gets back to me I'll make mine later tonight.

Was in my top 3 for wild cards. Solid pick. Maybe the chips falling, Laley?

Mulva had mentioned he would be gone until at least Saturday, so we will see if he can make his double today.

I'm very anxious to follow Bobby Hurley's opening campaign this year as a D-I head coach, so wanted to make sure I grabbed McCrea early since I will be following the Bulls this season anyhow. Also, he's a stat stuffer.

As you mention, Az, this year is chock full of great "statisticians" from the little conferences. Wish we had two wild card picks.

Interesting pick. Not sure if I would have taken him this early, though

McCrea was my #2 wild card. He will have monster games. 20/20 types...

I wrestled with this a lot, but knowing this board and the knowledge of every single poster in this game, I knew McCrea would go fast as a wild card and decided to just pull the trigger and get it out of the way. I know whom I want in round two, so I just rolled the dice that Mulva won't pick him since I am the second pick.

Payne definitely a top 10 player, IMO. McAdoo, I guess it really depends if the JMM from 2 years ago in the 2nd half shows up. If he's just that much better, he's got the potential.

Payne should he better without Nix down low, but he averaged like 10 and 7. That's top 10 worthy Az? He will have to improve his scoring a lot.

But, he is a top C, which is critical.

Not confident about that pick at all, but I got worried about centers after reading Laley's post. And Kirk did have decent numbers last year. Not very many great guys in the middle out there.

You could argue top 10, but I had him at 15th. I do think he's capable of some big BS/REB games, which make him slightly better than guys who are pure scorers. Also right about him being a center too.

Isaiah Austin was my first choice at center. The guy's just awesome. Love his skill set more than any other big in the game. The next best seven-footer in college basketball is Alex Kirk, though, in my opinion, so I'm good with it. There are some other very talented guys over seven, but many are overshadowed by other players and might not put up as big of numbers. We'll see, I guess.

But yeah, I was furious that you got Isaiah. Honestly thought he'd slip to my second round pick.

sports wizard up, Laley

Just to clarify..We have to select one player from each of the listed conferences or those are just the pool to draw from?

The pool. No restrictions on that other than needing to get G, F and C.

Alan Williams, UC Santa Barbara

Centers seem like a rare breed according to ESPN. I read a top 10 list of centers according to one publication and 6 or 7 are forwards in ESPN's eyes. Makes it more challenging so I'm ok with it.

Yeah, I am going through these teams and everytime you think you have C with solid numbers...they are a F.

Ben Aird, C, Utah Valley. Hate using my wild card, on a guy with 15 per, but not a whole lot of established centers remaining.
