Yes, I did search for the old threads, but most were too broad. The original thread is archived probably.

Just looking for some neat/useful apps people use.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
I use Action Launcher.
I have Business Calendar and the corresponding Business Tasks.
My music app is Google Play All-Access($10 a month, unlimited and can pick any song, organize your playlist, haven't had any trouble finding songs).
Google Drive
Android Central App
CamCard(business card scanner)
Super Hexagon
Tapatalk
WBNS-10TV
Youmail
Dashclock
Google Play Books

I have the basic social media apps, NFL, FFL, banks, and TWC apps also.

What have you?

I have an iPhone.
Navigating an iPhone is easy so I don't need anything like "Action Launcher."
I use the native Calendar app.
My music app is iTunes.
I have Google Drive, but I prefer Dropbox (I also have Box and SkyDrive).
App Store
Don't need CamCard because I know how to enter contact information into my Contacts.

Hope this helps.

lol

I use Action Launcher as it offers a different experience, Android is 'easy' too. I'll probably switch to Nova Launcher at some point. Customization. You don't understand.

Camcard quickly gets all the information into my contacts while I can continue discussing the topic at hand with the person.

Now that I got the "ass" post out of the way and people can see what a taste of their own medicine is like, on to the more "helpful" post...

Messaging Apps:
  • WhatsApp - it's really the only messaging app you need. Anyone who "pays" for it is a sucker.
  • I also have Kik and Google's Hangouts, but rarely, if ever, use them.
Social Apps:
  • Facebook - staple
  • Google+ - such a far superior app/experience than Facebook; it's truly a shame people are too "uneducated" to actually make the switch or give it a try. If Girls would actually adopt Google+, you would see so many more users on it. But Because the ladies aren't there, the guys won't use it because they want to creep "sexy" pictures of girls on Facebook; when there's none on Google+
  • Tweetbot - this is the best app for Twitter. LOVE it.
  • Instagram - cool for pictures, but to be honest, I really don't even use it. Maybe once a month
  • Facebook Camera - like Instagram... really don't use it much.
  • Pinterest - use this for recipe ideas. Yeah there's a ton of chick stuff on there, but if you follow the right people/boards, even guys can get some good ideas for dinner recipes
  • Skype - basically for Facetiming people who don't have iOS devices
  • imo - it has integrations with just about every messaging system (AIM,
Music
  • Pandora - best internet radio app on the market
  • Shazaam - great for when you want to know the title or artist of a song
  • Sirius XM radio
Sports
  • BTN2Go - Big Ten football
  • WatchESPN
  • ESPN Fantasy Football
  • ESPN Fantasy Basketball
  • theScore - best app for checking sports scores
Entertainment
  • Crackle - free shows and movies
  • Fandango - purchase my movie tickets
  • Flixster - watch my UltraViolet movies
  • IMDb
  • Netflix
  • SHO Anytime
  • U-Verse - access dvr for scheduling shows away from home
Finance
  • banking app
Travel
  • United
  • GasBuddy - list gas prices around you so you can find the cheapest gas prices
Boxes
  • Dropbox
  • Box
  • Google Drive
  • SkyDrive
Google
  • Google Search
  • Google Maps
  • YouTube
  • Translate
  • Authenticator
Health
  • Nike+ Running
  • Fooducate
Shopping
  • Groupon
  • LivingSocial

What's hard about accepting their business card... continuing the conversation... going home... and then entering their information in like 5-10 seconds?

Why use WhatsApp if you have iMessage or just basic text messages? I've never heard of the app. Willing to try if better.

Also, ...nah. That's it. My apps stink. I have Chess. That's pretty much it.

I run into two situations: 1) I get multiple college coaches coming in all at once and I don't want to spend the time manually inputting them later or 2) they don't have a card for me(i'm small time and smaller schools don't have unlimited like the B1G guys). It's a convenience thing, I get all their numbers(generally at least 3), their email, and work address by just taking a picture.

I use WhatsApp because I don't have unlimited texts, and not all of my friends have iMessages (iPhones). Thus, I use WhatsApp and now I essentially have "free texting", timestamps, sent notifications, easily share pictures & videos w/ a history account of the media shared (in case I want to look 2-months back and see a picture or something I sent then). Etc. All I can say is don't knock it until you try it.

I made one recently that wasn't very successful.

Probably because nobody likes me.

Hope this helps.

Also, since it's on topic... Tapatalk has quietly been jerking their paying customers around. They "upgraded" the old pro version to a free version with ads and then released a new pay version so people have to buy it again.

Pissing match got locked on their forums

Oh, I recently upgraded from the 4 to the 5s. In the transferring of contacts and data, I lost all of my text messages. Booooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! One of my joys was going back to exciting times in the year and reading the text messages. Boring life, I know. But when I had the 4 I read through the time around the district and state wrestling tournament. Those were great text messages between my bro and I.

Another great app that I think I forgot to mention is Flipboard. It's basically an elegant way of displaying your news.

Unfortunately CDMA/LTE. I would love to buy an unlocked phone and jump to T-Mobile but that isn't an option in my area. I would rather have a GSM only Nexus 4 in a good service area than a CDMA/LTE device on Verizon.

The AT&T Straight Talk SIM cards came back. I used it for a month or two before I switched back to T-Mo.

I never ran into any of the "soft cap" issues that some of the others did, and I used about 1.5GB
