Why shake hands with a guy you can't stand? The entire hand shake line is moronic, imo.

You were like 3 when they played in those other stanley cup finals. I wouldn't count that at all.

Fucking hate west coast games. Doubt I'll stay up to watch Kings/Ducks.

Bylsma not fired....yet.

New GM may do it. Pens are pretty smart. They must have read my post.

Three? Haha no I was definitely in elementary and watched them consistently on UPN. Those were the days when JLA roared nightly. Not only that but that team had some serious grit, I wish we would get a little more physical

Fire the GM and evaluate the status of the coach.

Get better players. How does getting rid of your best players accomplish that goal?

You're joking right? Crosby and Malkin are the two best players on the planet. Toews has never cracked more than 76 points and that's when we saw the most stacked team since the Avs in the early 2000's. Don't give me the intangibles and leadership bullshit either. Kane is an enigma but has started to turn the corner as a complete player. Lets also look at individual awards for all 4 players for NHL only. Not counting Olympics, World Juniors, or World Championships.

Crosby:
-2x Art Ross (07, 14)
-2x Lindsay Award (07, 13)
-Hart (07)
-2x NHL First Team All Star (07, 13)
-NHL Second team All Star (10)
-Rocket Richard (10)
-769 points (274g, 495a) in 550 regular season games (4th all time in PPG)
-114 points (41g, 73a) in 95 playoff games (7th all time in PPG)

Malkin:
-2x Art Ross (09, 12)
-Calder (07)
-Conn Smythe (09) 36 points (14g, 22a) Most points from someone not named Gretzky, Lemiuex, or Coffey
-Hart (12)
-Lindsay (12)
-3x NHL First Team All Star (08, 09, 12)
-632 points (240g, 392a) in 518 games (11th all time in PPG)
-111 points (42g, 69a) in 96 games (9th all time in PPG)

Toews:
-Conn Smythe (10)
-Selke (2013)
-NHL Second Team All Star (13)
-372 points (167g, 205a) in 408 regular season games
-64 points (20g, 44a) in 75 career playoff games (79th all time PPG)

Kane:
-Calder (08)
-NHL First Team All Star (10)
-Conn Smythe (13)
-493 points (178g, 315a) in 515 regular season games
-71 points (29g, 42a) in 74 career playoff games (50th all time in PPG)

Career stats don't mean much in saying who the best players are today.

Regarding Shero/Bylsma. Should've done both at the same time. Pleased that Shero is gone and Bylsma still needs to go. New GM will most likely give him the axe.

Who is better than Crosby and Malkin? I'm not even being a homer. I really would like to know who. Ovechkin laid that claim as being in the top 3 but tailed off badly but has picked it up again, slightly. Stamkos? Getzlaf? Giroux? Weber?

Hard to argue against the Kane/toews combo. Going for their third cup in four years and always clutch when it matters-unlike your Pittsburgh boys.

My NHL season starts and ends with the playoffs, but I'd venture to Chicago as a whole is a lot better than Pittsburgh during their current run of success.

Stamkos is every bit the equal to Malkin, if not better. Don't get to see Getzlaf as much, but from what I've seen, a case can be made.

Ah, I think you missed the biggest STAT where Kane/Toews have a "2". Malkin/Crosby have a "1". 2 might be turning into a 3 this year.

Elite players make their teammates better. Look at Bryan Bickell. That guy isn't shit without Toews and Kane. Remember Martin Havlat who Kane and Toews made look good and got him big money with another team?....yeah, he was just released into free agency. Dustin Byfuglien is another. He isn't shit anymore either.

If Crosby and Malkin actually helped others on the team be better that would be a different story. Unfortunately, they just disappear in the spot light. I could give a shit how good someone performs in the regular season. Show me your elite when it counts.

Pretty sad to have the "top two players in the world" and miss out on the SCF for 5 consecutive years.....

Also, no one gives a shit about individual awards. Show me championships.

No one. It goes Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, Datsyuk, Toews. But maybe Malkin should be traded for some serious depth

That's because they are. They've got depth and the best coach not named Babcock.

Stamkos to me is #3 but he is not better than Malkin nor equal. He has never once cracked 100 points.

Help others on the team? Malkin made Talbot and Fedotenko. He scored 36 points in the 09 playoffs with them. As for Toews, in the last 2 cup runs he had lines of Byfuglien-Toews-Kane and Sharp-Toews-Hossa. Hell of a lot better than Talbot-Malkin-Fedotenko. Malkin turned Neal into a 40 goal scorer as well.

No team is willing to pay the price for Malkin and trading Malkin would set this team back and is the wrong move.

So your argument is magic numbers from the past? We're talking about today, and today, Stamkos is better.

FWIW: Barry Melrose said Kane/Toews above Crosby/Malkin.

Can't believe the refs disallowed that goal...then LA scores right after it. Ouch for Chicago
