If what they see on tape is what they called on the field, they say the call is confirmed. If they say it stands, it means they didn't have enough on tape to overturn it but can't confirm they got it right. Regardless, it's a moot point.

I'd agree with you that it doesn't necessarily mean that

Call stands = no evidence to prove anything different (not necessarily admitting fault)

Confirmed = they had video evidence to prove it

That is not coincidence.
Cal put up 585 yards tonight against a PAC 12 team. The only awful game they had was when their QB went down in the 1st quarter.
