I don't think boredom is a function of where you live. I have more things I want to do than I'd be able to do in three lifetimes.

I've lived in Northeast Ohio all my life and once I graduate in August I wouldn't mind seeing what living elsewhere is like. Not that I hate it here (besides snow) but it is just something I always wanted to try. Probably regret not trying it more than trying it and moving back if I didn't like it.

I came to Ohio when I was 8 and left the first time when I was almost 12. I moved to the Los Angeles area and lived there 8 horrific years. My Dad had passed away and my mother and I accepted an invitation from my uncle to come and live (very cheaply) in his San Gabriel hotel. I didn't know anyone and I was painfully shy in those days and I hated the fact that I had been removed from all my friends and I lived for the day i would get to go back to Ohio. I even subscribed to our local paper when I was out there and never stopped getting it for 7 of the 8 years. I finally got to come back and I will never leave this State. I did get a chance to go back to California for a National Social Studies Convention and it hadn't changed. Too fast paced, too rude, too impersonal. I must admit I had a much better time in California during my second visit. Number 1, I had some money, and number two, I was going to leave and I knew it this time. I live in a lovely little city, close enough to larger cities that provide everything we need without the hustle and bustle and smog etc. etc. etc. The schools here are outstanding and it's like a Twilight Zone location...almost too good to be true. Of course, to be fair, I was born in Detroit.

You have to be thinking I-76 to Pitt at the I80/I-76 split in Youngstown. I-80 east into PA is not a toll road...yet. Gov Rendell wants to make it a toll road.

Anyone who knows me at all knows that I hate Columbus with a passion unlike any other.

It is all what you make of it.

I lived in many places when I was in the military. Some of the best times were in places that are not considered ideal places to live and some of the worse times I had were in places that were highly desirable places to be. As I look back now, the places I enjoyed were because of the people I was around and the opportunities I took advantage of and the places I didn't like were the opposite, didn't like the people , spent my time bitching about it wasn't that great.

I live in Ohio now and I have had many people who come and visit tell me they never thought Ohio was so much fun and interetsting. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but when people visit I always try and do things and or take the places that would "wow" them. I think living here sometimes you forget there really is a lot around.

3. Ohio State football
4. Amish country
5. Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum
6. The Three "C's"
7. County fairs
8. High school football

I enjoy living in Ohio..wouldn't want to live anywhere else..we get the best and the worst of all the weather. I do hate NE Ohio though..would love to move back to SE Ohio.

Thank god Rendell hasn't turned that stretch of I-80 into a toll road... I'll be extremely pissed if I have to pay a toll to drive 4 miles to catch Rt. 60 down to Rt. 18 to head into Greenville....

I live in NW Ohio and LOVE IT!. We are 2-3 hrs from major cites, ie: Dayton, Columbus, Detroit, Indy and only 4-5 hrs from Chicago. The roads are really good in NW Oh (can't say that about other parts of Ohio), The high school sports are 2nd to none and plenty of universities to choose from if your a recent high school grad. Big issue though is the job market. Not like it was when I got out of school and could pick & choose my job. BUT overall...I would not live anywhere else that is at least until I retire.

A lot more 'respectful' people down that way. And believe it or not..they seem to have a helluva lot more common sense than some I've crossed paths with up here.

I haven't really missed living in Ohio. I miss the people I know personally more than anything. I lived in C-bus for 12 years, and Cinci for 6.

But don't get me wrong, I always stick up for Ohio.

Kicked it in Cali, Ohio, and Montana. Been to every region.

Love Ohio. Got it tatted on me. Any life you want, Ohio is got it.

I also hate NYC people who act like their city is some Mecca. Also, people who move there and refer to it as "The City" and think because you can go to a fag bar at 6 AM on a Wednesday, their city is the truth.

I love Ohio. Couldn't imagine living in another state honestly..

Columbus is a great town, very underrated.

However, thank god i'll be moving to D.C. soon.

Nothing against Ohio, but just doesn't "fit" me all that well. But, i will always defend it to the death against ignorant fools everywhere.

It isn't nearly as bad as some who have never lived here make it out to be.
