Smashing Pumpkins are great. Billy Corgan is a music legend as far as I am concerned. Saw the group live in Indiana several years ago. "Tonight, Tonight" is probably the best live performance I've ever seen.

I saw them at Rock on the Range in May. I thought they were good, but it just didn't fit well with the rest of the weekend. I am definitely glad I saw them, but I think it would have been better at a different show. Cobain in later interviews had no issues with Pearl Jam and seemed to take back what he said earlier.
Black by Pearl Jam is in my opinion the best "grunge" song ever. It frequently holds my personal favorite song of all time title.
I personally don't care for Eddie Vedder but as a band, Pearl Jam is in my top 5.

Unfortunately I saw them at Lollapalooza in '94. They headlined that year. It was supposed to be Nirvana headlining, but Cobain put the business end of his shotgun in his mouth a couple months before the concert. Yeah, he definitely gave off that same vibe at the show I attended. I think he's just more of an introverted person and not as comfortable running about the stage while jumping and dancing around (i.e. the complete opposite of a Chris Martin, whom I've also seen live and is great, by the way). The uniqueness of his voice, however, really resonates well with me and that's why I like him. The group was probably at its peak in the mid-90s, however, during the Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness era. I don't know if my state of mind at Lollapalooza in '94 really counts as "seeing" or "attending" the Smashing Pumpkins.

That may be it. Didn't think she performed in '94 but thought she was there in remembrance of Kurt and Nirvana.
