Just what the Pirates want from their pitcher -- a lead-off walk when they lead by 4!

How about this?

Reds down 6-3. Hanigan up with 2 outs.

Derrick Robinson, quite possibly the WORST run producer on the team, is on deck ready to bat. Of course, he didn't have to come up, but how ridiculous is it that he was in the on-deck circle? I mean, how can even the most staunch Dusty defenders justify this?

So Rodriguez is now at 2nd base. Reds would have had a way better match-up if Dusty would have put Paul up against the forced righty with bases loaded and just one out, then put Izturis at SS and Rodriguez in for Paul at 2nd. Way worse off now that Dusty didn't do that.

Yeah, but managers do bait and switch in the on deck circle all the time. The rookie who just hit his first MLB HR came up instead of an imposter in the circle!

Way too high level thinking for Dusty. I don't necessarily agree with taking the bat out of Cozart's hands. Paul hasn't exactly torn it up against righties and he's hitting about .170 since May. The guy sure hasn't gotten many chances, but even with the LF out all year, Paul has been really bad.

There are no Dusty defenders on here. Go to RedZone and ask them.
