That episode raised a TON of new questions. They do a really good job of keeping the viewer on pretty much the same level of knowledge/info as Liz. Lots of subtle things characters observe, but they can't put the pieces together any more than we can despite the extra stuff we're teased with.

I kind of thought they told us Red was her father, but I guess they never revealed that explicitly (though one reviewer pointed out Liz has Red's DNA after picking up that bloody glove and could simply get it tested).

In the episode with the Stewmaker, it seemed like Red is avenging the death of his family - we were shown a few pictures from his scrapbook that clearly meant a lot to Red (and the house he burned down seemed to be where he raised his family, perhaps before he became a criminal mastermind). Then there was the curious woman he looked up in some sort of govt database - I think it showed she had been incarcerated and was now deceased. No idea of the dates or how old the photo was, but she appeared to be late teens. My suspicion is that was either Liz's sister or mother (whom may be Red's sister), but he appeared to be even more deeply affected by that then the scrapbook photos. Question is what would someone with Red's resources have expected to learn/gain from that database?

Another theory I saw is that Red may be Liz's brother. Although the age difference is uncommon, it might very well fit with a relatively young and unestablished Red placing his 4-yr old sister with someone he trusted to protect and raise her.

What doesn't make much sense is Red's sudden and keen interest in Liz, which I guess that motivation is yet to be revealed (gotta be more than a familial interest). What makes even less sense is why Liz's husband might be some sort of spy/bad guy - she was a nobody whom when they met must have been nothing more than someone studying to be an FBI profiler. I guess, theoretically, Alan Alda knows who Liz is to Red and the husband is an agent they placed to keep tabs and give them leverage (which might explain Red's motivations).

I agree with about the husband. He plays the, "What in the world is going on?" very well.

Good breakdown. They never came out and said he was her father. It was heavily implied in the episode when Liz' "dad" died.

Well, maybe the best episode of the season. In case you find yourself empathizing with Red, they remind us multiple times that he is an absolute monster.

Although I struggled to understand his motivation - I don't think being tortured provokes this....simple intolerance for a leak fits, but there's something more. The one connection that made sense was "the man with the apple", which makes me think it was all about the threat on Liz.

So who is the mole? I have no clue. but my money would currently be on the Director (whatever his title - the black guy running the op site).

LMAO at Agent Meera - "this is going nowhere...if you want information then waterboarding/acid/knee-capping are good torture tactics to start with". Which leads to one conclusion - she is AMAZING in the sack.

He is Skinny Pete! He was like Red's helper/aide. He's the one that actually interviewed Tom for that teaching position.

Thanks...I knew I was supposed to recognize him, but couldn't place the face.

The interesting corollary is that I'm not sure there's a leak in the "Post Office" (although there almost certainly is)...might have been Alan Alda.

Red only kills when its necessary so he's not a monster. Loved the way he took care of anybody that crossed him.

Not sure I agree with that. He plays judge, jury and executioner - only a monster kills anyone who crosses them, even if they were forced to cross him.

That very well may be true. Just saying that for the show's purpose as of right now, Phillips was the mole.

You might be right that he's the mole as the characters know it....just not adding up for me. I suppose Alan Alda could have helped the mercenaries with layouts/access/email of the Ops Center, but I think he actually has someone on the inside still. Alda doesn't strike me as the type to put all his eggs in one basket.

Did I follow this right (just watched it last night) ... Skinny Pete was the mole on Red's side, but they still have not found the one w/i the FBI?
