True. I'd love to have it rest in our hands a day early, though.

Indeed, and he isn't limited to just 3 outs or 2 outs. he can go two innings etc if needed.

8 in a row and still can't clinch...frustrating. I still don't get it if all 3 teams tie...which after tonight appears more likely. Unless tribe wins and Rangers lose Saturday, then the tribe will send Ubaldo to the mound to clinch on Sunday. That means either Danny or Masty go Wednesday...or Monday whatever it is.

All I got to say...what a incredible Deptember ride.

Hey BRF....you would have loved tonight's T trivia question. What tribe player is the only one to hit a walk off homer with a last name starting with Q. Talk about timing eh old boy? And no, I do not remember that at all.

See the MLB Chatter thread. I think I posted it correctly. Basically, all 3 teams would be seeded A, B and C. Texas, having the best record vs their division (51-31 after tonight), gets to choose their seed. The team with the next best record vs their division, chooses their seed (both Tampa and Cleveland are 42-32 vs their divisions after tonight).

Most likely, the first pick will pick seed A. The second pick will pick seed C. The last pick will get seed B.

Team A hosts Team B. Winner gets a WC spot.
Team C hosts Team A/B Loser. Winner gets a WC spot.
The two winners then play, and the two-team tiebreakers come into play. If both records are the same (would be if team C wins the 2nd game), head to head between those 2 teams would choose who hosts the 1-game WC playoff.

The division record doesn't matter, I don't think. According to the mlb.com article I read, a three way tie means it comes down to combined head-to-records against the other two teams in question. They've already chosen roles and the Indians are Team A. (They chose first based on a 7-5 record, where Rays were 7-6 and Rangers were 5-8). So we would host the Rays on Monday, then the loser travels to Texas on Tuesday. Then the play-in game is Wednesday.

The way Masterson looked last night, I would put him right into the closer role. He was filthy and he has the right mentality.

This is correct. Indians picked A. Rays picked B because why wouldn't you rather have 2 chances to go to WC then only 1. Wasn't sure why Azubuke said the 2nd best team would pick C. Regardless, win these next two and we have nothing to worry about!!

Just to add to the WC stuff. After the tiebreaker games, the WC game is hosted based on Head-To-Head record. So, it won't be Tribe if we play Texas and TB if we play them.

Que? If there is a 3 way tie indians play rays in cleveland for the first tie breaker. Then if the indians win and the rays win game 2 tie breaker against the rangers. The WC play in game would be indians/rays in tampa.
