The premise of the movie is that Batman is retired, Gotham is overrun again and he saves the city. The US Govt doesn't like Batman showing him up after they agreed he would retire, so they send Superman to Gotham to stop him, battle ensues.Manhattan Buckeye;1490305 wrote:This makes no sense. I haven't read any of the comic books, but that premise seems so completely out-of-character for Superman (at least as I know him thru the movies). Besides the idea of Superman being manipulated by the govt...going to stop a good guy? Sounds pretty much like the Frank Miller comic, The Dark Knight Returns. Written by someone who's never read a comic book in his life, but why do Batman and Superman apparently hate and fight each other. I heard they were doing this movie and just assumed they'd be teaming up Avengers style. Don't they have the same goals to fight crime? I'm confused.

Yeah this is one of those Bizzaro World type scenarios where in the end it was a plan all along by Batman and Superman to team up. Justice League prelude just like Avengers was to Iron Man.
