Archie and Meathead are locked in a room for the weekend and Archie gets drunk on cheap wine and basically explains to meathead why he is such an ass. Archie says his family was so poor he had to wear one shoe and one boot to school thus earning the nickname Shoebooty which still pisses him off .

The death of Chuckles the Clown episode on The Mary Tyler Moore show is a classic.

You are right on the money with the two Lucy episodes. They are my all-time favorite Lucy shows. I also concur with your mention of that very emotional M*A*S*H* episode when Col. Blake is killed on the way home. I also really enjoyed the All In The Family episode, when Archie was involved in an automoblie accident case where the other car was filled with a certain group of religious figures, prompting one of Archie's acquaintances to comment..."Archie,...it's awfully hard to beat a stationwagon full of nuns!"

There are many others but these stand out immediately in my memory.
