Has Masterson won this month? He needs to turn it around and get a win out there. A sweep would create some momentum coming back home. Have to get the first game. One at a time.

For what it is worth...Weaver owns the Tribe.
Lifetime 7-2 in 15 starts with an ERA of 2.86. His teams are 11-4 in his starts vs the Tribe. In 3 combined starts this year and last vs the Tribe, he has given up 2 earned runs in 20 innings.

Francona wants to play it one at a time, and I think that is good strategy for the team. As a fan however, I can't help looking down the road and saying that the next two series are critical to this team staying in the race. I don't think you have to win them all, but .500 is not going to be good enough.
...continuing the discussion of Swisher and others.....
I don't think you can look at Swisher signing and say flat out it was bad considering the apparent overall improvement in the team. The offense has been inconsistent, but you have multiple guys having 'off' years( Swish, Reynolds, Cabrrera), and others haven't improved as much as we hoped(Santana Chisenhall)....the bullpen has been streaky, pitching well in some games, blowing it in others.

Without acquiring a bat for the middle of the lineup, they are spinning their tires while everyone else is moving forward. Hoynsie reported they've made several waiver claims but couldn't strike a deal...I guess they got us to Browns season, but when you have a guy that is supposed to be a veteran leader getting thrown out stretching a single to a double in a 2 run game, then dropping a throw an inning later, makes me wonder if they haven't mailed it in.

It wasn't a bad decision to sign Swisher. It's his play that's been poor and is what has been criticized...at least by me. It's not the GM that I criticize. It's the player.HitsRus;1488710 wrote:...

I expect another sweep. Pitching has gone silent and our bats suck.

Game 1 is the swing game for the Tribe (which, seems obvious...). But, I think they are like 15-2-2 (straight guess, but I know its good) when they win the first game of a series (15 series wins, 2 losses and 2 splits).
With that said, Salazar needs to be great.
EDIT: Without looking, my guess is the Tribe are nearly as bad when losing game 1 of a series.

I got tickets to all the games out here. First time in Angel's stadium since I moved here. I think they need to at least win game 1 if they want to win the series.

They are being very careful with Salazar and Kazmir because of the length of a major league season . Salazar is young and coming off surgery. Kazmir hasn't pitched a full season since 2010.

Lonnie is 3/35??? Yet we continue to think he will help us make the playoffs more than Aviles or Raburn???

Good inning! Lonnie must've read my post.
Hopefully ZMac can make the 4-0 lead hold up. Game 1 is so key, especially for this team it seems.

Sh**!.... Zac Mac giving it back.... 1 run in for the Angels and men of 2nd and 3rd with one out
.....and then Swisher throws him out at the plate trying to tag on a sac fly....they 're out of the inning!

lol. I thought he was safe live. Thought he was safe on 2/4 angles and out on 1/4 with 1/4 being undecided. Ill conclude we got very lucky there.
