Yes you are naive. Our intel is probably no worse or no better than theirs. Its simply just not enough. Especially flights originating in leftist European countries. Cash is king and large amounts of it can buy alot of info. Follow the money and it usually leads back to the Saudis which have unending resources of it. Terrorists aren't worried about "spotting" your brother...they just want to know which plane he ain't on to begin with!

and you are assuming air marshalls are known to the flight crew etc. its not like in the movies. they dont have the sources to do background checks on the millions of people who fly everyday.

Until we get to the point of strip searching every flyer and opening every single bag the skies will not be significantly safer than they are now. I'm OK with the current level of scrutiny. But maybe Detroit with its higher density turban twister population needs to go the extra mile.
