Oh, so you have to buy more software on top of an already over priced computer? Might as well just buy a PC, half the price, double the quality, and you can run any app or hardware you want.

lol, I don't know why PC users have to jump on every Mac thread. I switched to Mac in 2006, still have the same MacBook and work just as good as it did the day I got it, especially after doing a couple of upgrades.

My Toshiba crapped out after a year..

Also, I have no issues with compatibility. NONE. Everything I need works.

But I don't want a PC. I prefer Mac. I'd rather spend the extra money for a better, more stable machine. OS X is better than any Windows OS. Any Unix-based OS is better than any Windows OS.

But you wouldn't know truth if it smacked you on the forehead. So..obviously you should beware of anything this guy tells you.

sleeper will just say you're an idiot because you couldn't keep your PC running.

My issue with PCs never stemmed from me being an idiot and my machine getting a virus or anything like that. I've never had a virus on any machine. Every PC I have ever owned, however, would just have random things stop working. My trackpad would just stop working. Next thing I know my CD burner isn't working. Then my speakers would quit working. And I wasn't buying cheap shit either. My first laptop was over $2k and my second one was $1600.

I'd rather pay $2000 for a Macbook Pro (they've since dropped in price).

windows ='s garbage.

Windows 7 still didn't get the reviews/ratings that Leopard got for Apple.

You'd think some of these guys are blowing off Bill Gates with the way they come on here and defend Microsoft.

There is nothing need be said about the MacBook line. Continually rated as one the best computers by SEVERAL different reviewers.. Seriously. This isn't just Apple marketing, it's Apple PRODUCING. They continually grow as a company at an alarming rate.

I enjoy my PC simply because it hasn't given me any issues. I've had my laptop for 2 years, and a desktop for 6, and I haven't had any problems to this point that would make me want to change what I'm using. So, for me, switching to a Mac isn't practical for those reasons. Now, if I begin to have issues, then maybe I'll look into an alternative.

I'm on a Dell right now and have had it since August 05. I've added memory once and thats it. There is a quarter inch thick stripe going down the center of my screen, but the rest of the thing works fine. I'll probably get a new one when I would get to the point of upgrading the memory again but I don't know what direction I'll go. I'm pretty happy with this one and my fiance's mom is super happy with her Macbook....

I'll probably go the cheapest route.

I switched to Apple a few (6) years ago, mainly because I do a lot of the more creative stuff and have made quite a bit of money with the systems I have purchased. I currently have a Macbook, an iMac and a Mac Mini. They put out an incredible amount of product for me. My next purchase will either be a beefed up iMac or I may take the plunge and get a full-blown Mac Pro.

I say go with what you are most comfortable with in either a PC or Mac. For me, it is hands-down, a Mac.

Wife just got a MacBook pro about a month ago. Awesome computer. I have a new iMac at work and it is far and away the best computer I have ever used. Eventually I hope to get a MacBook to replace my current Toshiba laptop.

The compatibility issues have always scared me away from Macs in the past, but now that most of that is ironed out, and I have some experience running Macs at work, I am convinced that they are the superior machine.

I use Macs at work and hate the bastards.
