What a difference a week makes:(. One week ago we were full of anticipation and hope....

A playoff caliber team cannot go thru extended losing streaks. Every team has bad spells when they lose 7 out of 10...but you need a few wins in there to keep you a contender. A loss today would push the losing streak to 7, and propel this team to another August swoon...3 years in a row. If you fall behind far enough, the front office will pull the plug and they will start playing the 'kids' getting ready for next year, and we will be in for another meaningless September.
Yesterdays fiasco was punctuated by the really bad defense that has plagued the team since the All star break., Druby Cabrerra muffed another easy double play ball...the 2nd in 8 days that allowed the Angels to deliver the knockout punch....and another decent pitching performance was wasted by an offense that was anything but clutch.
19 days and counting...
seriously, if you are counting on the Browns to give you hope, good luck with that.

and its not getting any better today. Masterson looks like garbage and there should be 2 errors already on Swisher and Cabrera but i dont think they were given the errors.

He's really went downhill this season--we should've traded him when he had some value.

Swisher makes it only a 3 run lead by the Angels with a 2 run HR.

Kansas City is up right now on Boston. Looks like a possibility of 3rd place after this game.

4 2 out runs there are big. If we can save this game and somehow pull out a win and get it back on track there is plenty of time left. They are so streaky...is isn't crazy to think they have another 7 or 8 game winning streak in them.
