It's not the complete lack of steals.

For me, it's the lack of timing and the lack of steals from individuals.
Exactly....yesterday, the game situation demanded we run....and this whole series, we are not running like we usually do, as if Tiger catching is the pinnacle of efficiency at throwing would be base stealers out. As I said...francona is playing this series tight, and it has cost us big time.
You guys do realize we are tied for 2nd in the majors in team stolen bases, right?
Tied for 2nd, but there 8 other teams at least within 5 SB of us....and we steal at a much higher efficientcy than any one else.
In end of game situations though, with guys like Bourn, Kipnis, and Stubbs who can score from first on a gapper, you don't want to blow your chance by trying to steal when they are practically in scoring position already.
There's a difference between practically and actually. You have to consider who we are playing...it's the Tigers not the Twins. It takes two singles to get a guy home from first. Maybe you hit a gapper...but then again Detroit is in no doubles defense. And you have to keep in mind the double play ball. Basically, we have allowed Detroit to stay in their comfort zone by playing safe, waiting for the big hit that doesn't come. By doing so we are just lining up and trying to outslug them. That's a battle this Indians team is going to lose 10 out of 11 times....oops I mean 11 out of 12.

disgusting...attendaance was 20,169 which included several thousand Tiger fans. WTF? A huge series in August and 15K Indians fans show up. SMH. The Blue Jays- Mariners game(yawn) drew 34,000.

It will be interesting to see how this Tribe team comes back from this series. Remember we lost 3 of 4 the last time Detroit was in town and then finished the pre all-star season 5-1

But we are now 2.5 down in the WC race and I know Texas still has another series or two with the Angels (who they just dominated) and still 10 games left with the worthless Astros.

A lot of baseball left but without the killer instinct to close out games when ahead late, the Tribe will be on the outside looking in.
The rangers schedule between now and September is pathetic. I think they'll end up winning the west.

Bill Madlock thinks you suck.

Larry Walker would too, but he's Canadian.

I can't believe he had that bad of a stretch. 10x worse than his career worst till now. He was beyond terrible.

I guess the world of baseball on the OC has learned two things this week.

1. When Cleveland plays Detroit, they will lose. In whatever way is the biggest possible kick in the nuts this series, to add insult to injury.

2.

NCF has been reborn!

EDIT: For anyone not in the know, NCF was a "fan" of Cleveland who bashed everything about the team at all times. Whenever a game happened that didn't mesh with his "everything sucks" reasoning, he wouldn't post about it (but he'd be the first in line to start bashing whenever anything went wrong) and when called out on that, would go into this "Unlike all of you puppets who have no life other than worrying about me, I have many things to do with my time and can't always be here" line.

Which reminds me a lot of Mr. I Talk About Detroit When They Take The Lead, But Am Not At My Computer Until That Very Moment Happens.

Reynolds hit only 2 HRs and had 7 RBI's since June 1 in 151 ABs. He'd been hitting below the Mendoza line since May 6.

Given that it's 3-0, guess we'll do the Browns on Channel 3 instead.

Yikes....down 6-0, opposing pitcher is 16-1 and has a perfect game while Tribe has 2 more errors than hits.

I haven't been posting reallly but have been keeping up with the Tribe, but my God how the fuck do you get swept at home coming off a big win streak?

We should just thank God that both Tampa and Texas have been losing as well because we are only 2.5 out of the 2nd wild card as of now. Could have been alot worse than that so we have actually had some decent luck in front of us.

Chris Perez needs to get the hell out of town as well. This season will forever be remembered for his blown save and what could have been.

By playing a team that's much more talented than you.

There are not a lot of closers out there better than him.

He still is.

There are plenty of teams that will take him if the Indians don't want him.
