Good news. Jonathan Broxton started today's game for Louisville. 1 inning, 2 hits, 1 strikeout. Bats up 6-0. He probably pitches one more time, and I'd bet he will join the team after the Oakland series.

Just a piss poor uninspired game. For fucks sake it's the GD Cardinals....in GABP...SELLOUT...complete flub ass game.
Leake got the ball up too much.
Worst OF defense I've seen all year.
Frazier is 0-27 now with a brain cramp error.
Ondrusek came into the fire wearing a gas suit.
St Louis is just a way better team than we are....they could actually win a playoff series. I can't fucking remember what that feels like since it was 18 fucking years ago.
I HATE how Dusty handles this team. HATE!
And fuck the people in charge of gouging the damn ticket prices in theses series. $52 for a $30 ticket. Enjoy the game!
2 hits....2 errors, should be 3

Freese with his 11th line drive of the series.
Good scouting plan.

No, but the Reds have to consider bringing Billy Hamilton up fairly soon, IMO. He has a .330 OBP since April. Nothing great, but it's fair to say he could bring as much to the table as Paul, Robinson or Heisey starting. This, of course, is assuming Ludwick can't play every single day.
I also think they underestimate what type of "spark impact" a guy like Hamilton could have.

Hamilton will be up Sept. 1st, just hope it's not too late.

Well, that's obvious. I'm talking about before. I guess it will depend how Ludwick feels when he's back in there everyday. I'd like to see Hamilton on the 25-man playoff roster over Robinson...

Hasn't the Reds history for several years been to play uninspiring or not good whenever there is a big home series, especially when there is a big crowd? None big digger than the play-offs last year when they couldn't salvage one of three!

Nope....he'll be up in Aug of 2016
Nothing about this team needs a spark.

But maybe they win the play in game with someone other than Latos, then he wins game 1&5 in the first series, and games 3&7 in the 2nd series, and games 2&6 in the 3rd series! Others would have to win 1/3, 2/5, and 2/5 for the Reds to win it all!Azubuike24;1482282 wrote:10 ER or 11 ER in 2 starts of a playoff series is going to result in an 0-2 record probably 90% of the time. So, we have Bronson, Homer and Leake all unreliable against good teams. Who is left?
The team is in trouble.

Hi....please spend a few moments on baseball reference and checkout the 7 or 8 times Dusty has reached the postseason.
Pls stop being silly.

6 playoff appearances, 5 first round exits. He did lose in the World Series once, but he also almost lost his son that year too.

Lance Lynn throwing his "coming down" pitch to the catcher and Frazier hits a weak pop out.

3 of the top 7 biggest series choke jobs in playoff history.
Up 2-0 and heading home last year
Up 3-1 vs Marlins and 3 run lead in clinching possible game in 8th inn
Up 3-2 and 6-1 lead going to the 7th in game 6.
But the Phillies series was fun.

Drew? The guy that usually bats 9th, starts 2/3-3/4 of the games and plays RF?......that sounds different?

Different role, same result.
The Indians have far more OF options/depth than the Reds ever had though.

He's there 3rd best CF. He's fitting a role for a 90 win team....he was a joke on our 97 win team.
I am so sick of Dusty.

I love BP but if he tweets something similar tonight to what he tweeted after game 1 its going to annoy the shit out of me. I'd rather he just not say anything if he just plans on mocking them getting fucking obliterated by the Cards of all teams.

My wife got me my annual "Sunday before the birthday Reds tickets" and we got to be up close for that bullshit today.
I have tried to hold on to hope as long as possible. But this team just doesn't have it. At least I don't have to feel bad about choosing to watch football instead of Reds games in a few weeks.
