Good win, but man, the defense is still a problem.
Put them in big games with a quality offense and I am sure sure they can win it.

But, they covered, with a backup QB, wooo

I thought we got some good pressure on the QB. Gave up too many big plays though it seemed. Overall good game.

Me and a buddy were talking how basically OSU if it had Tressel still would never win a title in todays game. I think tonight is a great example of that, playing Tressel ball we would have lost to Cal. His style would not work at all against this no-huddle attack where teams are scoring 40 points with 20 minutes of offense. No way do we score 52 if we had JT and JB at the helm

In Tressel's final season, Ohio State scored 35+ points nine times, and averaged 49.25 ppg in non-conference play.

Yeah but could this group score that much. I feel like Braxton would not do very well in that offense but who knows

Am I the only one who watched cal vs northwestern and realize that 100 plays, 500 yards and 30 points is just what Cal is going to do this year?

Nope, they did pretty much what I expected.

The only real problem I have with the Buckeyes so far this season is the amount of penalties they've incurred so far. I'm not sure where they rank nationally, but here's where they stand in the B1G....not good:

PENALTIES G No. Yards Avg/G
1. Minnesota 3 7 52 17.3
2. Penn State 3 14 99 33.0
3. Purdue 3 19 147 49.0
4. Michigan 3 18 150 50.0
Northwestern 3 16 150 50.0
6. Wisconsin 3 16 152 50.7
7. Iowa 3 20 155 51.7
8. Illinois 3 19 159 53.0
9. Indiana 3 18 162 54.0
10. Michigan State 3 17 188 62.7
11. Nebraska 3 23 219 73.0
12. Ohio State 3 24 225 75.0

Cal's offense is certainly better than half the B1G, probably better than that.

lol, yeah. The "OMG, a team built purely around a fast-paced offense got yards and points against OSU?!?!? It's the end!!!!!" crowd is cute. Scorewise, things were pretty much about what I expected except for...

I thought I read it was 10 points (TD and FG), but I could be wrong. Either way, that's the only concerning thing from the game for me -- key mistakes giving teams a chance to keep drives alive and score points. That's the sort of thing that needs corrected, as a good team will make those mistakes hurt badly.
