The Red Sox traded a major league ready SS in this deal who is a ++ defender and hitting .330 in 68 games in the bigs this year. The Tigers traded Garcia...a 22 year old who has spend time in the bigs the last two years. Very high potential guy.

We were not willing to part with Chisenhall, Cabrera or top prospects. Which I am fine with. The Red Sox mortgaged thier future SS in this deal.

And if things don't work out they'll sign or trade for whoever they might need.

^^^exactly.

Plus, these teams are in the 'win now' mode this year...if not perennially. The Indians just aren't willing to sacrifice future success on a small chance of reaching the Series. We all know the Tigers are unbeatable ;). It does piss me off that they were able to easily hedge against Peralta's suspension....and the White Sox cashed in with a plethora of prospects.

Igelias is a big step down at this point. Most people project him as a poor man's Omar. Scouting reports have actually said he has the best hands since Omar. His average has been a surprise to this point and he doesn't have much pop. But the Tigers have so many Hall of Fame hitters...they can afford it.

The Tigers are freaking rolling right now. Up 5-1 early. Gio's worst start since May. They are hot. We have to stay hot. Its gonna take A+ baseball the next 2 months.

Big shoutout to the Nats aces. Only allowed 15 runs to the Tigers in their two starts. Good stuff.

2-0 Tribe up in the 4th. Is there anyone more disappointing that Mark Reynolds? He is by far the worst player on the team currently, and he has lost a ton of money in future contract dollars in playing as shittyas he has been the last 2 months. I understand he carried the team in the first month, but that means nothing if you cant be somewhat consistent. I'm annoyed he's starting tonight but I'll give Francona the benefit of the doubt that Reynolds had a good record vs this pitcher.

Tribe up 2-0 after 4.

Kipnis has a RBI groundout and Brantley a RBI double.

Rick Manning just made fun of Hawk Harrelson, giving a sarcastic "he gone" on a strikeout replay

Orioles down by 9 to Houston. If the Tribe hangs on tonight...we will officially be "in the playoffs...if they started today" on August 1st.

I think it's about that time for Gomes to come in for Reynolds and move Santana to first. He is a damn bum.

Posting from the terrace club...worst managed game I've seen in a long time. Let's see if the team bails Tito out.

That has to be a bit deflating to Chicago. Win it now.

Either way...great battle. Always will take extras when you are going to the 9th down 2.

How has Drubs regressed so badly? More errors last year than usual, and his hitting this year is absolutely atrocious. How does he bat 4?
