Reds look to split after 2 tough losses. Cingrani should have a match-up advantage over Chris Capuano, but I have a feeling both bullpens will be busy.

Even when cingrani pitches well the bullpen is busy. Because he will be at 100 pitches by the 5th no matter what.

Yep. Both pens should be in by the 6th.

Of course Capuano is making the reds look awful.

In the 6th, can the Reds overcome their lead-off double bugaboo?

They again could not overcome! After the suicide squeeze bunt attempt resulted in a neutral outcome, both batters who were commissioned, by virtue of the sac bunt, to bring in the run, failed.mhs95_06;1479508 wrote:In the 6th, can the Reds overcome their lead-off double bugaboo?

With the Votto lead-off double, the Reds get to challenge the bugaboo again in the 7th!

No cigar! Whether they sacrifice with the first out or not, they fail either way.mhs95_06;1479516 wrote:With the Votto lead-off double, the Reds get to challenge the bugaboo again in the 7th!

Looks like the fate of this 0-0 game is sealed! Eventually the Dodgers will get a scoring opportunity, or a HR, and that'll take the game when they convert.

Is this a guaranteed 1-0 loss? No way the Reds win this.

Haha. What says more about needing to win the game than Dusty going to his worst reliever...

No doubt the answer is yes. This is the textbook extra innings Reds loss.

20 K's on the day and Puig comes up.
The Reds have absolutely shut him down today...so he will naturally walk this one off.

Ugh this was a terrible loss a split would be good vs the hottest team in baseball but after a week long offensive explosion the lineup again goes silent. Any trade deadline rumors for the reds

If this last series wasn't enough of a playoff preview to show Walt that the Reds' offense is way too streaky to consistently win 11 of 19 in October. If it doesn't lead him to some sort of move, I don't know what else can happen?
