I'm going to be in Cleveland this weekend, what are some good bars in the area? If you happen to be at the same bar as me I will buy you a beer for your advice.

Brew Kettle and Fat Heads if on the west side. Winking Lizard if downtown. Tremont Tap House if on that East side.

Depends on the kind of bar you are looking for. Wilbert's is my favorite downtown bar, but most people wouldn't like it. City Tap, Panini's and the Clevelander are also good. I enjoy E 4th and W 6th, but not everyone does. I basically just have a good time wherever I go.

Brew Kettle and Tremont Tap House are great suggestions.

I'll second Fat Heads! That place has some awesome sandwiches and some pretty good brews.

I'll be downtown at the Hyatt.

I prefer low key places, dives, anywhere with a decent beer list. I'll check these out.

Just grab a handfull of 40oz, keep em in a brown bag and just walk the streets...it seems to be common practice among the locals there and the cops don't seem to mind a bit! I promise...you will fit right in!

City tap and winking lizard (right next to each other) have a large beer menu.

Map Room on West 9th is the place. Can get a little packed though depending on the night so maybe not "low key". Has been less packed recently with all the construction in the Warehouse District and everyone going to Ohio City. Short walk from the Hyatt. Just cut through the trash in Public Square and then through the beautiful parking lot smack in the middle of downtown where a building should be.

If you want to go over to Ohio City where all the cool kids go nowadays ABC Tavern is a cool dive type bar that is different from the new cosmopolitan scene they're trying to build there. But there's a lot of hipster-types.

If you're interested in getting in a cab to go to some dives;

Harbor Inn in the flats is also the epitome of dive bar and a hop skip and a jump away from Christie's/Larry Flynts if that's your thing.

Hoopples is a sweet Union Dive Bar in an obscure location on Columbus Rd. but tough to get to from where you're staying kind of since they're working on the bridge you need to cross to get to it.

If I were you; Happy Hour/Eat at Nauti Mermaid or Johnny's Little Bar on West 6th...Map Room...Dive Bar later on to try to find some strange at the end of the night. All in walking distance.

Johnnyy's little bar has some really good burgers, but all their food I've had is solid. I agree with this suggestion for a night out in Cleveland.

You would probably enjoy the hawk or twist in edgewater or union cafe. They seem to be what your probably looking for.

I can vouch for Wilbert's. I only go there before and after Indians games, but $2 domestics is nice. Also like the Clevelander. I believe everyday they have any beer and liquor (exc. top shelf) for $2 between 8-9.

Sorry I meant the Q. It was directly across the street from a hotel we stayed at once. Can't remember the name of the bar though.
