There's 15 Fortune 500 companies and out of that 5 of their suburbs were ranked in the Forbes Best Places to Live while nowhere in Ohio was listed. But overall Detroit Metro despite the destitution of the city's inhabitants is ranked as the 16th wealthiest metro region in the country while Columbus is 55th, Cincy 57th and Cleveland 85th
Well something obviously isnt working..

Yeah what isn't working is the corrupt liberal government that runs the city. I may be a conservative but even I know there needs to be a balance, yet Detroit itself is so askew it's unreal. First the city itself is 83% Black with 54% of the population below the poverty line. See the race riots around 1970 were so bad that basically anyone with money moved away to the suburbs. The second mover was the fact that the hardcore liberal morons over there in an effort to fix the city just decided to raise the tax rates astronomically to make the rich pay for services, making the rich leave. Believe it or not Detroit has the highest property tax rate of a major city in the country, at $5k for a $150k house.

Detroit's problem was not spending enough money. Clearly.
