It's that time of year. So, which ones do you attend? The Ross County Fair is a huge deal around here, and though I've never much cared for the fair, I'm kinda looking forward to it now that my niece is in 4-H and was very successful with her pig last year. The Ross Co. Fair has 1400 campsites, so pretty much everyone is there all week. The only thing it lacks is musical entertainment. They quit booking bigger acts years ago.

Mercer County Fair in West Central Ohio sucks. I think they have Joe NIchols, a kinda famous country singer from what they say, performing but other than that it sucks. Darke County isn't too bad and usually gets a bigger act. Few years ago it was Styx. They got lucky a couple of years ago. They scheduled Lady Antebellum before they really hit it big and won a bunch of awards. Van Wert county I think still has quarter horse racing which is kinda interesting.

The Hartford Fair, while not technically a county fair, is the GOAT fair in Ohio. I won't make it this year but will run up to the Preble County fair for a day.

Haven't been to a county fair in years. I used to go to the Richland and Huron county fairs almost every year with my dad. Nothing super exciting...but I do love me some fried fair food. I went to the Canfield Fair last year, which was a fun time.

We will go to Hartford this year.

Dunno if we will go to Fairfield co. fair in October or not.

We will definitely be hitting up the state fair next weekend though.

Oddly, the Scioto County Fair always has the best entertainment of any fair around this area(The Lost Trailers, Lauren Alaina, and John Michael Montgomery this year), but the facilities are pretty poor. I guess that's the trade off, because Ross Co. has top notch facilities as far as county fairs go.

This. VW's used to be top notch but has declined a lot over the past decade. Mercer Co.'s is a joke.

Unfortunately my son is in 4 H and taking an animal which means being at the Pike County Fair on a daily basis! Luckily my wife enjoys it, so will probably be able to get out of it most times. I don't mind the fair, but some events, demolition derby and tractor pulls brings out the best of this county, and that is freaking scary! lol

I teach in Highland Co and the entire county takes the whole week of school off as about every kid using 4 H.......I never go to fairs unless I absolutely have to.

We get extremely homesick in October when we are missing the Fairfield county fair. The Hawaii state fair was the biggest joke of a fair I've ever seen. They couldn't even make an elephant ear right...

Went to the Franklin County Fair a few years ago. Saw it in less than half an hour. Horrible.

Franklin County Fair isn't really one of "THE" fairs in Central Ohio.
State Fair, Hartford Fair, Delaware County Fair, Fairfield County Fair. I would say those are the "big 4". Knox County Fair is pretty popular too as they have a pretty bigtime tractor pull

I attended the Vinton county fair once to see a band play. It was like a scene out of Deliverance.

None. They make me feel embarrassed to be an American.
