I think Garth Brooks played there in about 1988 before he got big.

And Vinton County has I believe 2 stop lights in the entire county

Jackson County Fair is going on right now. It's sucks.

Back when the Kentucky Headhunters had their one or two big songs back in about 1990 (Slaw Burger, fries and a bottle of ski)....there were over 10,000 of the biggest hill jacks in world history there to watch....it's in Guiness Book of World Records.

Don't ever go.

The best fair around me is Scioto Co....always have very good entertainment (Toby Keith, Mark Wills, Neal McCoy etc), and it's paved and not as stinky as others.

(lol) The VC folks were really proud to mention "Garth was here" back then.
I attended mid 90's (can't remember exactly) and I heard this same thing 13rd hundretz thousandz times that night.

This is the band I saw at the fair. They even brought in cops wearing full riot gear.
Was a fun weekend I gotta admit. Some of those back gravel roads in the hills are frightening in just a fwd car.

Hocking County Fair has gone downhill, but I still go for the truck pulls and derby. I try to go to Vinton, Stark, Carroll, and Fairfield derbies as well.

Lol...who?

Seriously though....2 red lights and one high school in the entire county.....and just recently obtained a McDonalds and until about 7 or 8 years ago had ZERO fast food chains. To this day only Subway and McDonalds

No one famous. The Director of Football Operations at Georgia Tech is a VC grad.

They were kinda big in C-bus back then. At least they had a following of everyone from the hills of SE (Athens/VC) who moved to Columbus in search of a job. Played at Alrosa Villa all the time.

It was kinda a sarcastic joke by the band just playing there. It was a big party. Their lead singer made the comment about always wanting to perform on that cement block they called a stage at the VC fair.

Victim is the band "poop soup" is the name of the song.

Actually it was pretty fun. All the cops were cool. It was great they let them perform and pretty much take over the fair that one night.

It was just different. A small fair in a valley between mountains of trees.

The Fayette County Fair blows dong.

We'll probably go to the Indiana State Fair here in a few weeks.

Canfield fair is probably the best one in Northeast Ohio. Usually get some huge acts. I think Blake Shelton played last year or two. And when I was in high school Brad Paisley paid with Chris Cagle. I usually go to the trumbull county fair and it is pretty much just trash. But the Milkshakes in the cow area are freaking awesome.

I have been to county fairs all over the state in my younger years(basically was a carney working a food booth for 3 summers, don't laugh..had a blast...lol) and have not seen a fair better that Fulton Co. Matter of fact, went to Wauseon last year to attend this fair for the 1st time in years and have to say..it is still the best in the state

Yea, they used to have very big acts, but have gone in a different direction financially lately, and it has resulted in top notch facilities for the 4-H'ers, which is what the fair is really about.

I haven't been to a county fair since 2003 -- that year I went to Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan.

I would've went to Muskingum this year had I still lived in Ohio, Florida Georgia Line and Colt Ford are playing there. I may try to go to the Kansas State Fair now that I live 25 minutes away. I've never been to a state fair.
