I always read these thread titles as "water continues to be wet"

I really wish I could never watch ESPN but there just really isn't an alternative. Hopefully the NBC and Fox stuff picks up

What else is there? Baseball? Could it get more boring right now for pro sports?

Today and tomorrow are the 2 days where I give them a reprieve for fabricating news. These are the worst 2 sports days of the year.

There's a lot.

Just not a lot that ESPN wants to cover.

CrossFit Games
British Open
Soccer

Lets add darts, poker, and lumberjack games to the list too. Riveting.

You could honestly sit and watch people workout? Brutal.

If you call CrossFit "watching people workout", then I see why you wouldn't enjoy it.

My point was, and I understand why they do this, is that ESPN is really only looking for news that fits in 3 categories.

1. NFL
2. Big market controversies (any sport)
3. Overly popular sports figures making waves

This Manziel stuff is apparently THE most important thing in the world.

Awful.

I honestly hope that Fox actually shows highlights.

I've tried to watch Sportscenter the last couple times I missed the Cleveland game to catch highlights and they only show the Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers, etc from the AL.

This whole Manziel debacle is ridiculous.

ESPN's idea of entertainment can be pretty stupid sometimes.

Watching people eat a lot of hot dogs or foreign kids who can spell really well.

Yippee f*cking do.

(although I admit to watching darts before)

Sportscenter needs to watch the premier league review show on FSC to get an idea of how to actually run sportscenter

Haven't watched ESPN other than for MNF, NBA games and NFL/NBA draft since LBJ's "decision". I go to the sports websites for highlights of Cleveland's game.

Same here. I watch live sports and that's it on ESPN. Loved Sportscenter growing up but haven't watched it in years. Part of that is getting older and not having time but a lot of it is how shitty it has gotten.

In middle school and high school, during the summer, Sportscenter was something I could watch 2-3 times every mid-morning. At least once a day. Now, I was a teenager, home by myself while mother was at work, and the internet was far less than what it is today, but still. I remember always watching just to see them show the Reds' highlights or talk about the weekend's upcoming football games. This was before ESPNews and all of the lame ass shows ESPN has on daily, trying to act as a sports comedy and shock jock station.

Yeah, for me to watch Sportscenter now, it pretty much has to be on mute and I'm usually turning it off when I see the score I'm looking for scroll on the bottom or (if I'm really bored) when the highlights of that game, assuming they show any, are done.

Anybody watch "The Lights" On NBCsports. It's my morning sports show. All it does is show highlights with David D'amonte doing a little bit of commentary about each game. Also shows a lot of the players tweets about each event which I think its kind of cool.
