What do you use to download music, since the demise of p2p?

I use flvto.com, which converts YouTube vids into mp3's.

I think most people went to Spotify-type services. I pay for Google All-Access, which is very similar to Spotify.

I download everything off of hulkshare or sharebeast. Most people just go the torrent route. That's what I use for movies and TV series.

Still do torrents but I know of some who stand by what.cd. If I even had the foggiest clue about music formats, transcodes and torrenting I'd give it a shot.

If anyone is into streaming movies, I recently came across a site called Viooz. I've been watchin' a ton of movies on it lately.

Torrents occasionally, but Spotify for the most part.

Everything is getting harder to snag these days.

You could record and convert streams with Replay Media Catcher. Then maybe use something like MOG because you can select whole albums, and the vast majority of its library streams at 320kbps (if you pay a small monthly fee). It would require a lot more patience, but you couldn't beat the consistent high quality. (and if you want smaller files, RMC can convert to 192 or 160aac).

Also, a neat tip if you want to "upgrade" your library...upload to Google Music and if they have the matching title it will be replaced with 256kpbs (thought it was supposed to be 320) regardless of the bitrate uploaded at. Not sure if it wouldn't be a little hit-and-miss, since I presume they match with the digital fingerprint

I use Audacity to record Youtube, Grooveshark, Pandora, etc. and export to MP3. Audacity also allows excellent file editing...and it's FREE.

It's a slower process than torrents or downloads but it works.

I use a hodge-podge of files to get accurate file tags. The best one I've found, by far, is Tune-up. It was kind of finnicky for me, though, so I have to use it with Itunes media player. Otherwise, it's nearly flawless. Also embeds album art on about 95% of files - and about the only program I could find to do that in bulk. Again, it's not free.
